Dorsetmike
I just bought an N gauge kit for the Z class, (well it was there and I was spending money at a show; do I really need an excuse?) Now I'm wondering how to justify it on a layout based in East Dorset mid 1930s, can I claim a running in turn from Eastleigh? If not I'll need to apply for an extension on me modellers licence or as a last resort invoke Rule 1.
RMweb Gold Graham_Muz Posted September 12, 2013 RMweb Gold Share Posted September 12, 2013 Mike Perhaps 957 was nicked from Salisbury (usually deployed on east yard duties) for a trip working?
RMweb Gold TheSignalEngineer Posted September 12, 2013 RMweb Gold Share Posted September 12, 2013 Considering they all ended up as Exeter bankers around 1960, there must have been some good moves to get there as half of them came from Ashford IIRC. Also one did time at Templecombe and another at Salisbury in the 1950s. Just a pity about your time frame, although I suppose it could have been heading to Exmouth Junction to try out between St Davids and Central or could have been one of the 10 that were supposed to have been ordered for building at Eastleigh in 1931 but never materialised.
