firefly9
Does anyone make detailing packs for Hornby class 58's? Also are there a replacement for Hornby diesel wheels to something more finescale? And please nobody say save your money and buy the Heljan one. My project is a Hornby one. Removed a/c
I can only recommend using the Heljan 58 detailing parts. Not sure what is available or if they would work. Howes do carry a Hornby detail kit but currently out of stock http://www.howesmodels.co.uk/Railways/viewProduct.php?ProdID=
Ian Fisher
Hi Rich, Get some spare cabs....plastic can be brittle Craftsman have done a general 80's detailing kit A1 have also retailed a number of parts maybe to ve used in conjunction with the above? Wheels can be supplied by Ultrascale or with a degree of skill you can reuse the gears and use a suitable size from a finer wheelmaker Maybe worth investigating via Howes if there are any nice Heljan parts you could consider incorporating in your build

firefly9
Yeah cheers. I've had a look and found some about the right size only problem is how do i power them as obviously on ultrascale wheels there are no gears etc. can the Hornby components be transferred straight over?
