Photographs from the 80s (and maybe slightly later!)

Recommended Posts

I have recently started scanning my photographs from the 1980s. The quality of many isn't top notch, I would have liked to scan from the negatives but my negative scanner is leaving strange artifacts on the scans so I have had to use the prints and the colour of some them seems to have faded over the years. I will also apologise in advance that my note taking was not very good. Most of the time I only know the location and the month the picture was taken.

I am scanning them in a fairly random order so please do not expect these to be sequential. I will start with shots from March 1989.

I'll have a guess here.

Isis Link operated at a number of locations including Town Goods at Avonmouth.

For a while they received fertilizer from Norsk-Hydro (formerly Fisons?) at Immingham.

This traffic passed on Speedlink, but possibly also ran in train loads (after Speedlink?).

A special block train from Immingham to Avonmouth would be routed via Nottingham I think.

Always interested in 1980s photos,

cheers
