RMweb Gold Stubby47 Posted September 30, 2013 RMweb Gold Share Posted September 30, 2013 A few of you may remember this building - it was first published in MI3, and made an appearance at the first SWAG Module project on one of my corner units. Well, I've been asked to make it again, this time as a full building rather than 3/4 relief, so herein will be the build progress. The initial process was to work out the size of each element on the main wall and then draft out a working plan. This leads then to the cutting and gluing of the necessary bits of 1.5mm cardboard to give the correct length & holes. The rear and side wall of the prototype are in fact plain walls so can be simply covered in paper. The unusual roadside end wall, with the three distinctive arches will need careful marquetry style paper cutting to include all the various brick & stone patterns. RMweb Gold Stubby47 Posted October 4, 2013 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted October 4, 2013 The end wall is mainly done, I just need to add the window details and the greenery. The wood over the windows is a coffee stirrer, painted in a grey / black / bown enamel mix; the thin strips in the arches are coffee stirrers laid side-on, again with a mix of black & brown enamel paint. The brickwork is Scalescenes painted brick, lightly coloured with a pencil, which is then smudged with a finger. In the photo the main wall is almost covered in paper (it is now but no photo yet) - again, no detail as yet. Any questions, please ask !!
RMweb Gold Stubby47 Posted October 5, 2013 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted October 5, 2013 Today, I have been mostly making a window... Step 1 - Make a frame the right size for the window apperture. Step 2 - Add the shuttering and the cross-members and try for size Step 3 - Add the lintel and cill Step 4 - Put it all together Step 5 - Add the corrugated plastic Other windows from the end wall :
