gwernol
I'm pleased to announce my new book "The George England locomotives ofthe Festiniog Railway". The book was written to support the Flexiscaleproject to laser scan and 3D print models of the four remainingFfestiniog England locos. I am now making it available more widely. The books covers the early history of steam locomotives on the narrowgauge, then goes into detail on how the Festiniog tendered for itsfirst steam locos and contracted with George England. The next chapteris a biography of England and cover his often acrimonious dealingswith Robert Fairlie. The locomotives are then described in detail, each getting its own section with a full history of the changes overits lifetime. Finally, we round off with a chapter on the laserscanning and 3D printing process. The book is richly illustrated with archive and recent photographs, many previously unpublished.Full details can be found at the website:http://www.festinioglocos.com/ where you can order your a copy. There are two editions, a softcover and a limited edition, largeformat hardcover (only 3 remaining!). All proceeds from the sale ofthese book are being donated to the Welsh Pony restoration fund.I hope you enjoy reading the book as much as I have enjoyed writing it. Already think it a bargain for a very specialist subject at £25.00, more so as the profits will help restore "Welsh Pony". Phil T.
