RMweb Premium pylonman Posted October 28, 2013 RMweb Premium Share Posted October 28, 2013 Hi people. Over a period of three years, following an inheritance, I put together a fairly big collection of Swiss (SBB and BLS) loco's and rolling stock. It contains : Loco's and rolling stock mostly by Roco. Some is brand new and test run only, some have decoders others not. I have eleven Fleischmann, Rollende Landstrasse, (Rolling Road) bolsters, all with a Herpa, HO truck. All of these items have been sitting in a drawer, doing nothing....... total waste. I take them out occasionally to have a look. it has been quite a challenge putting together the collection. For no other reasons than : I don't have a layout, or space for one. My interests have changed to less exotic (and expensive) taste The Railway Society I have joined, has no interest in a Swiss layout. I am wanting to dispose of my collection. Anybody interested ? Horsetan
Oh dear. I've been liquidating just such a (massive) Swiss collection over the past few years, with no end in sight. My view is that eBay is your best bet, and you will get a feel for what the market will bear. Specialist traders tend to only give you a fraction of the true worth, but their advantage lies in that they are perhaps more likely to divest you of everything at one go - helpful if you are in a hurry. Other alternatives include the Swiss Railway Society which may be able to help publicise your collection to its members. Swiss outline stock tends to come with rather substantial price tags (by British standards) when new, particularly where metre gauge is concerned. RMweb Premium pylonman Posted October 30, 2013 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted October 30, 2013 Stop Press. I'm fairly sure I sold the Marklin Kombi Freight sets a while ago ! Demonstrates how much I view my collection ! I will produce a list with photo's of what I have got, within the next few days.
RMweb Premium pylonman Posted October 31, 2013 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted October 31, 2013 Hi. Here is a photo of my display case, with the swiss loco's. I know a few aren't Swiss ! Photo's of rolling stock to follow.#
Horsetan
Based on my experience, the Re460/465 don't fetch a great deal, as there are so many of them. In the collection I'm liquidating, the late owner amassed over 100 of them (at least 60 of them made by HAG, the rest by Roco), all with different running numbers and / or liveries. Likewise the Am4/4 shunting engine, behemoth that it is, doesn't always catch the buyer's eye either. The one I finally got rid of was by Hobbytrain, but actually made for them by Kato. Off the top of my head, it went to a buyer in Germany.

Horsetan
Any prices? Variable. The regular ones I've sold so far have gone for anywhere between £18 and £36 - all boxed and as new. Very hard to predict. Doppelstock, on the other hand, goes stratospheric.
RMweb Premium pylonman Posted November 13, 2013 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted November 13, 2013 Any prices? Hi Colin. If you'd like to contact me via e-mail, with a specific stock in mind I'd be happy to sort out a deal. Horsetan obviously has made the assumption you are communicating with him, when this is actually my post. Or are you communicating with him ? Some of the gear is brand new and test run only, some I bought used........ I will be perfectly honest with you, I won't try to diddle you. Straight off : the 10/10 set is brand new and was circa £300. I would want £250 the set or £125 separately. 8/8 doppelok is brand new was circa £280. I would want £240. The observation coach, and the kids coaches were new and £50 each. I would want £30 each for those. The 6/8 brown Krokodil is brand new Circa £170 new. I would want £150. Contact me, and we'll work something out. e-mail : keith.whitehead2@btinternet.com text : 07779276374

RMweb Premium pylonman Posted November 25, 2013 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted November 25, 2013 Hi. Within the next few days I will be listing items on ebay, and RmWeb. I reserve the right to end an auction on one site, if the item sells on the other site. I will be listing the collection as rakes: loco(s) + coaches/wagons. With Photo's. I don't want to be left with the coaches/wagons having sold all the loco(s) They will be listed under the name "pylonman1".........(don't forget the "1") they wouldn't let me have pylonman ! I don't need to mention this but ; the money raised from the sale of the collection will be re-invested in the hobby, which is really important to me, my reasons for sale have been stated at the start of this topic. Best Regards

RMweb Premium pylonman Posted December 9, 2013 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted December 9, 2013 Hi. The sale of the whole collection failed. I will be re-advertising items of the collection, in smaller lots.
Horsetan
It may have been a bit much to expect it to go "in one go". I've always listed individually - yes it does take time, but it's a lot more flexible. Dutch_Master, who has commented above, has had a fair few of the (BEMO) presentation sets from me! I must admit, had i known about this, and had the money, i would have been very interested in the 460/465. Cheers, Sam
