RMweb Gold beast66606 Posted January 16, 2010 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 16, 2010 Some shots from 16 Jan 2010 My local station is having it's waiting room refurbished, this has been closed for many, many years so good news. Collecting a fellow WFRM member from Rock Ferry, here is his steed, 507006 on 2Y05, 07:49, Ellesmere Port - Ellesmere Port via Liverpool loop and demonstrating why electric units are often called sparkies. Whilst getting Widnes ready for its next show I nipped down to Holywell Junction for 175003 on 1H86, 10:44, Llandudno - Manchester Piccadilly (this was the 2-car strenghtend to 3-car after smoky hippo, 175109, had it's fire at Prestatyn, it's recently been returned to its original 2-car form) And the very next train is smoky hippo, 175109 on 1D34, 09:50, Manchester Piccadilly - Llandudno, recently repaired A tiny rainbow salutes the power of the hippo The first of the two Arriva hauled drags, this one with a logo-ed up 57/3 57314 and 390011, City of Lichfield, on 1D83, 08:50, London Euston - Holyhead Not much to be said about 158829 on 1D12, 09:09, Birmingham International - Holyhead A variation on the ATW livery. 158820 on 1D14, 13:09, Birmingham International - Holyhead And the drag returns, with a non logo-ed 57/3 57313 and 390011, City of Lichfield, on 1A55, 14:36, Holyhead - London Euston Ive left some of the other hippos out

T-T I've still not got anything in the loops, missed a 37 in the down one a couple of years back, I went to the footbridge towards Mostyn and could see it sitting in the loop but a double hippo would be heaven
