Colin parks
This looks like an interesting and brave conversion! Is it along the same lines as the work on James Makin's 377? Are there any drawings for these units or are the dimensions being calculated from photos? Good Luck! Colin

Andrew F
Yes, that would be me. I've made a start on one of David's Electrostar 3 car sets. this will be a 375301-310 unit.....eventually, The plastic cuts and Mepaks really well. Here I've modified the 'James Makin' noses' light clusters as they have six lenses per nose as opposed to the four of the 377 et al. Evergreen styrene tube was used after filling and re-drilling the cast clusters. Can anyone help me? Before I chop up the interior I need to know the seating arrangement for the 375301-310 units. Does anyone have a diagram or point me in the direction of the information?
Andrew F
After a solid 3 days toil significant progress is made: The motor can has been chopped down; 24mm out of the middle and 10mm from the ends. I've used a plistic 'splint' and screws with more plastic on the inside and the original motor housing screwed to this; the drive shafts shortened to 52mm ans 'sleeved' with tubing. The plastikard Pan well: Exhausts removed and slots cut out: The three bodies all shortened including the rooves. The interiors have also been cut down to size and it all fits well and screws/clips into the other shortened sections

Andrew F
Thanks for that C. What a minefield these units are! I didn't like them at first, now I detest them! Give me a CEP anyday. I'm trying to tackle one job at a time and not think to far ahead but I keep noticing differences such as the rooves which have rows of vents on the 375/3. Some classes like the 377 have just DC power or dual power meaning all the underfloor equipment differ even in the same class. Then there's Dellner couplings or not. Pictures needed for the underfloor of the TSO next...good job you live near the station.

Have sent you the full set of photos via email, work them right to left, some pics overlap, then you have a 3 car set 375301.1st class section, is behind one drivers cab only. No clear view, tween platform and sets,to check if they are the same on each side of the under frames. Next time am there, will try to board and photo the seating arrangement and hope not to alight in Ramsgate. It was luck more than management, the line closure to Folkestone means no Javelins nor Electrostar s going south . This was a 2 X 3 car set running tween Dover - Ramsgate only. Other service, platform 3, Dover-Victoria, 377'378s. Edited December 29, 2015 by David Todd
