ThePurplePrimer
I am intending to recreate a model railway that was built in 1926 I have some tiny and blurry pictures of it ( as per the original magazine article in 1926 ) and one of the shots shows this thing that I have placed an arrow point at Does anyone have an idea what this is ? And this isn't a model railway based in 1926 it was actually built in 1926
RMweb Gold beast66606 Posted December 5, 2013 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 5, 2013 Looks like a 2-aspect signal to me. Hornby Dublo perhaps ?
ThePurplePrimer
This is a photo of a model railway that was taken in 1926 - so that can't be Hornby can it ?
Tim V
That layout looks better than some I've seen in shows currently, are you sure the picture dates from 1926? Do you have any other pictures? It could be a point indicator?
Titan
Looking at the way the lines converge, I suspect that it is something on the end of the cabin roof as otherwise the signal would appear to be on the frog of the points. There also seems to be a line connecting its base to the top of the cabin chimney. As to what - goodness knows, but I don't think a signal!
ThePurplePrimer
There appears to be another one on the layout - this is on the other side of the bridge looking the other way It's in the middle of the picture on a post at the end of this different shed
