Mmmm, maybe an affordable 9mm gauge chassis for a mallet, only issue is that the wheels may be too large for most 750/760mm prototypes. Any idea what diameter they will be, Paul? (Assuming they will be to scale!)

The others are to scale apart from the compromise with the length of 7222 to use the same chassis as for the 723x / 4x locos.

These mallets have 1000mm wheels on 1400mm front and rear wheelbases with 4600mm overall wheelbase.

How did the 2-10-2 locos perform, I take it that they all have your pick up modifications?

One was a bit lumpy so is going on the workbench, yes all have the better wire wipers. Another played up late on Saturday not responding to the controller but playing all sounds after running well all day, and ran perfectly all day on Sunday! The other two ran well all weekend. I’m considering changing the decoders in the 2-10-2’s to Zimo as there is an actual Brockenlok file and I can easily add a small stay alive in as well. The ESU decoders can find alternate uses now next 18 is more common. So overall I was glad I had a couple of spares! 😉 The two 0.6.0’s just kept going without issue.

Who will you get the sound decoder and file from as I may well do the same. I can then use the Loksound one in one of my industrial locos.

The download is on the Zimo site and the one by Alexander Mayer has a sound preview. I contacted him last week and he says there’s a new 16bit file almost ready so it should be out in the next month. Basically you can download from the Zimo site and ask someone like Digitrains to install it for you, you just need to buy the key from Alexander, or whoever, to unlock it.

click on the + symbols to open up the pop up windows and there’s also the function list.
http://www.zimo.at/web2010/sound/tableindex_EN.htm

I’m intending buying the key and asking Digitrains to install it when I get the decoder and stay alive. I’ll tell you how it goes once it’s out and I get round to it.

Translation of function list, Alexander has been most helpful.

If you could let me know If you are available please? If not, could we pencil you in for 2026?

Your Süd Harz layout is fantastic and we would love to have it at our show.

Cheers

Thx very much for sharing, it's the next best thing.
