rob D2
I'd use T cut, but slowly and carefully as I rubbed through the dark grey slightly when I removed the mainline log off one if these

Lochnagar
First of all no factory finish uses transfers, it's all tampo printed, some of which is able to be scraped off easier than others. I've always used a blunt scalpel and scraped away the printing. Any residue carefully removed with T cut and a cotton bud, if you're too rough it'll remove the underlying paintwork. However the use of T cut or removing the printing in any way will leave a shiny surface, so you'll have to use sating varnish to blow over the bodysides afterwards. RMweb Premium James Makin Posted December 25, 2013 RMweb Premium Share Posted December 25, 2013 I use a curve bladed scalpel to scrape back the printing with success before on the Mainline grey 60, but that EWS logo is a right old beastie!! I don't think it'll be easy but very best of luck! The code for Phoenix Rail Grey is P133...have a feeling it may come in handy!!
RMweb Premium Gary H Posted December 25, 2013 RMweb Premium Share Posted December 25, 2013 30 years ago I remember removing the printed nameplates from Lima loco's using selotape, a few applications over the print and it would come straight off the bodyside. I doubt its as easy now though! You could also try using toothpaste, it can be less aggressive than T-cut.
