luckymucklebackit
Tried this one on another group where it seems to have died a death. A very modellable example of a small urban Goods Depot, but where?? Jim
Jamie
Something makes me think Bishopbriggs... the kink in the road, the shops perhaps... not sure...
Karhedron
It reminds me of Plymouth Valetort road but I think that the elevation of the mainline is wrong. Not sure.
Guest Max Stafford
Whiteinch or Scotstoun maybe. Guessing from the architecture and what looks like the elevators at Rothesay Dock in the distance. The fact that the main line is elevated also suggests the L&D as it plied the north bank of the Clyde in this fashion for most of the route. Dave. If It was I'm going to be really emabarressed.... If it had a goods shed like that I might have modelled it! Bob
luckymucklebackit
So close I will give you it Max - it was actually known as Coatbridge Canal Goods at closure, but was known as Coatbridge Central Goods (LNER) until 1951. The line on the right is the route from Whifflet Junction to Sunnyside Junction. The Goods shed was the last in the area to close on 3rd July 1967, it was on the end of a short branch from Whifflet, and with the high level through line would make a nice little model. I am not sure when the building was erected, it looks like a LNER scructure.
