WCML100
I am thinking of doing minimal work to create a small train consist of an unusual working (modern day era) nothing to hard to convert any ideas please? pictures / videos welcomed
The Bigbee Line
You need to be a bit more specific. There are plenty of 1 or 2 coach multiple units. Buy 1 or 2 and build something around that. The choice is yours. It's not really a hobby if people have to tell you what to do. Sorry to sound mean...

dvdlcs
There are a pair of bogie tank wagons that have been modified for coupling to Tube stock. When not surrounding Tube stock, you can see a formation of Class 20x2 + 2 bogie tanks + Class 20x2. As well as the tanks themselves, you have four locomotives which appear in a variety of liveries (BR Blue, BR Railfreight, Railfreight Grey, HNRC) and possibly others too. Shouldn't be too hard to find pictures online.

34theletterbetweenB&D
A small train. What about a Depot allocated class 08 moving a mk3 or mk 4 coach? There's quite a lot to model around the exposed gangway ends, including the dirt depostion that's out of reach of the washing plant.

That is an interesting one - an angle I never would of thought of doing - this is why i ask you modellers on here! This could be a possibility but would probably be a wagon (likely a tanker of sorts) as my depot is going to be a diesel fuelling one. Thanks for the ideas Peter
WCML100
Here you go 6Z20 working Jan 2012: Thanks for that - I actually noticed a similar set in the sidings at LU's Neasden Depot last weekend (2X BR Blue 20, 2X Modified Bogie Tanks & 2X GBRF Class 20's) did look interesting but maybe a little out of location i think but otherwise would of probably gone ahead with that one! I think they transferred the new 'S' Stock from bombardier to LU's Depot's as i recall seeing a few images of the it in 2X 20's, 1 modified tank, S stock set, 1 modified tank & 2 X 20's - i will try and font he picture
WCML100
I am actually planning several unusual workings to liven' up the layout a bit and give it something of a unique look. I still want loads of suggestions but i am going with the class 57 with the 2 car class 221 (221144) as the first one i am going to attempt. Matthew Snowden
Now then mate, just come on ere ystrdy!!! Unusual workings??? I love this sort of stuff!! One thing i want to recreate, which is mor of a preserved line thing, is a shunter hauling a car of a DMU?? So an 03 or 04, using a 101 trailer car for a coach???? RMweb Premium HillsideDepot Posted April 6, 2014 RMweb Premium Share Posted April 6, 2014 Some preserved ones here. Firstly an 03 and a steam loco tender: http://www.wsr.org.uk/cgi-bin/galleri.cgi?h=Snapshot&p=2014/03/136 http://www.wsr.org.uk/cgi-bin/galleri.cgi?h=Snapshot&p=2014/03/135 And the same 03 shunting part of a DMU with a Mk1 on the back: http://www.wsr.org.uk/cgi-bin/galleri.cgi?h=Snapshot&p=2014/03/085 Whilst these look to be on the mainline they are only shunting at Minehead, but with a suitable speed limit I don't see why something couldn't move between stations if it suits your layout. One very definitely from the mainline is they used to (probably still do) swap HST power-cars at Plymouth station with an 08 working the power-car from and to Laira Depot. Makes for an odd looking "train", and loose power-cars shunting around during the swap was always fun to watch.

RJS1977
Or there's this one - delivery of refurbed Mk 3 coaches to Laira: http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/81949-washout-at-dawlish/?p=1408150 If that's too long, I believe the return working would have been just the 47s and the barrier vehicles (unfortunately I just missed seeing it at Reading this afternoon). Castle
Hi All, Why not do a preserved steam locomotive and support coach move? Loads of them recorded on line, a chance to run an unusual combination of stock / running line and as support coaches for preserved steam tends to be of the Mk 1 variety with traditional liveries, modelling them won't be hard. Going one further, what about the out of ticket A4s that have been shunted about the countryside recently or the delivery of Duchess of Hamilton to York / Shildon? We had a quite a widely travelled cavalcade of diesels turn up at Didcot a little while back that had 2 Deltics in it amongst others - there are pictures of that on my Little Didcot thread. I hope this helps! All the best, Castle
RJS1977
Even Stirling Single No1 has been towed on the main line in recent years (to/from Waterloo International),though you'd need to track down either a Kitmaster kit or a Bachmann "Emily".
