RMweb Premium melmerby Posted April 20, 2014 RMweb Premium Share Posted April 20, 2014 I think that Canon values have been hit by two changes of lensmount over the years - the breechlock giving way to FD in the early '70s, and then the EOS mount in the 80s. IIRC when the FD was introduced it was supposed to be "future proof" to a certain extent, allowing such things as autofocus to be added later but it never was. Instead a completely incompatible new autofocus lens system was introduced, making all FD mounts instantly obsolete! Keith Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
RMweb Premium melmerby Posted April 20, 2014 RMweb Premium Share Posted April 20, 2014 ...and the odd thing is that you may well get fed up with lugging the bridge camera fairly quickly, and keep the compact in your pocket! Unfortunately my compact isn't exactly that! the lens pokes out the front and it is nearly as big as some of the smaller bridge cameras.
