bluekato
What kind of turntable would you recommend Hornby or peco to fit with a DCC system
AMJ
Depending upon your own criterion and location I'd probably suggest the Peco one. It does not need a reverse module if you have everything done right. It has a dead spot where you can't place track as per the instruction.
tender
The Hornby one can be easily be modified for DCC and a DCC loco decoder can be used to drive the motor. If you want to convert the Peco turntable for DCC control have a look here Ray
HLT 0109
Of the two, I would go for the Peco. I had a Hornby but thought it was dreadful (although I used it only on analogue control. I had three complaints: (1) it lurched from spur to spur, looking ridiculous; (2) it was very noisy: (3) registration of the bridge with the spurs was accurate in only one direction - rotate it the other way and the difference was sufficient to cause a derailment. Not having the courage to try motorising the Peco one myself, I bit the bullet and forked out for the Heljan which is a delight. Harold.
Brian Indge
You could also try ADM turntables at:- www.admturntables.co.uk Their turntable which is a motorised Peco unit has the reverse-loop module already fitted to the mechanism and comes supplied with a controller. Can be used for either DC or DCC
