RMweb Premium MJI Posted April 27, 2014 RMweb Premium Share Posted April 27, 2014 I wanted to test a loco and found the controller was not putting out normal DC and was load dependant (normally fine). Anyway off came the lid, the half wave switch was dodgy so I jumped it with some wire. No more half wave now. And the strange under load thing was due to the wire from the transformer tap coming away from the mechanism. All power was going through the tap slider which is greased. I resoldered the wire to the mechanism. Anyway now it was fine even if a bit messy cosmetically. Not bad for a controller I was given when I was 4 or 5. 45 years and still going. More to hte point still good control.
