vtrtrucker
Hi,bin a while since last posting(Branah junction o gauge). Decided to go back to oo gauge and start new layout, this layout wis 20ft x 10ft and will be a run around eventually with a 4ft viaduct across garage door. Me a nd a good friend Andy peters of here planned the track to incorporate long sweeping curves, nice little goods yard and a 4 road engine shed with turntable. High level back scenes too. Long way to go but made a start.

vtrtrucker
Don't get much time in the week due to early starts at work(2.30am arrgghh).so managed to get a few hours to night for a spot of track weathering,. I use a mixture of railmatch sleeper grime, dark rust and weathering black paints from my trusted iwata eclipse .
vtrtrucker
Got to rust the rails a bit,but was just playing around with weathering the ballast before laying, not do e this method before.i know a few of you guys have so thought have a bash. Put some ballast in a jug and added a small amount of humbrol soot and dark earth powders and mixed well in. Will stick use ing normal method of pva, water and tiny bit of washing up liquid. First pic is of untreated and second weathered. Will get it a light blow over with air gun to add slight variation.

Andrew P
Hi Lee, if there out the back of the shed as they look like they'll be then they'll look good. Anything like that brightens up a layout, very neat, looking forward to weekend and seeing it.
vtrtrucker
Few more hours spent doing ballast, will all need a good clean up when finished. Started doing shed floor Was going to have a level scene at the rear of station, but with a few ideas from bodgit of here have decided on a slope down to a yard area,
Andrew P
Hi Mate, looking good and yes the road sloping down is much better, loads more room for Vehicles and Cameo's at the bottom as well. The Signal box also looked much better where we had it last night. The buffer and Platform lamps look bob on and get some street lamps and your away. All the best and catch up next week, I may need a lift with the Patio Slabs if its dry, hint hint. hahaha

vtrtrucker
Painted front facia boards. Moving viaduct to other side of layout and adding small over bridge with road down to engine shed and fuel tanks. Need to bring the top curve round a bit more before straight section on to viaduct,my tool box is on the other side and is nearly 5ft wide and 5 1/2 ft tall and not got room to get curve round.
