RMweb Premium JDW Posted May 13, 2014 RMweb Premium Share Posted May 13, 2014 Hi, Just a quick question, I have a Lima BRT Mk 1 that I bought many moons ago to go with a pair of BRT class 20s, but was there a prototype? I don't recall ever seeing such a thing, the only things ever seen in BRT colours besides the 20s are the cable laying vehicles. Thanks.
Catkins
IIRC there was an entire rake of vehicles done to go with the two 20s for the BRT launch. You've got me thinking now.

Mark Saunders
Here is one http://www.departmentals.com/photo/977167a Paul Paul Is this not a Project Mercury vehicle as I am sure BRTwas a pale grey livery! Mark
GordonC
BRT was the pale grey with the 3 (slightly diagonal) lime green bars logo
deltic79
It is actually the same coach as modelled by Lima but in a different livery. There's a couple of photos of it in the blue livery with BRT ZDAs on the web but none I can find of the coach in the BRT livery http://www.bescot.plus.com/trains/20128_20075_BRT http://www.toton-rail.co.uk/images/20128trent.jpg
RMweb Premium JDW Posted May 15, 2014 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted May 15, 2014 Thanks for the info everyone, I did wonder if it was a bit of fiction by Lima to give them something else to sell to those who bought the 20, or maybe it just didn't last long before repainting. RMweb Premium John M Upton Posted December 27, 2015 RMweb Premium Share Posted December 27, 2015 According to this coach's entry on departmentals.com the main windows are non standard having being replaced with smaller saloon windows from a Class 101 DMU!! Weird......
RMweb Premium JDW Posted December 27, 2015 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted December 27, 2015 Yeah, I spotted that the windows were smaller too, it does look odd! I assume that the 101 windows were what was available at the time of conversion - presumably due to the decline/scrapping of the 101 fleet - and that their lower depth enabled things like work benches to be installed at a suitable height beneath them
