sp1
I need to get a new bit for my soldering iron (Antex 25w) as my son has borrowed it and managed to ruin the bit! I have been using a 3mm bit, but wondered what everyone else's preferred size was before I get a new one? (It is for soldering 4mm scale track - code 75 - to PCB/ copper-clad). hayfield
I have found you want it smallish without it being too small. I think the tip I use is the 3 mm one (Antex), I tried the 1 mm but it fails to put down too much heat

I did wonder whether to try the 2.3mm bit that Antex do, but as I have been using the 3mm I think I will stay with that.
jcm@gwr
Personally, I would buy a few, a selection, that gives you a lot more flexibility in the use of your iron, for other jobs. Jeff
