tamperman36
Here are some of my fleet of on track plant machines, the bulk of them are scratch built usually from photos. I will start with the smallest, this is a Permaquip welding trolley, built on a Bachmann underground ernie powered unit . It is fitted with a digital chip. I will follow this with a kit built model from the Kibri stable. This is a Plasser and thruerer dynamic track stabilizer, used all over europe, the model is HO scale and unpowered however it doesn't look to much undersize Another scratchbuilt machine next. This is another Plasser machine, however it is quite a strange machine, it is a measurment machine and doesn't make any pyhsical alterations to the track. It is called an EM SAT and uses a small trolley carried on one end lazer tethered to the main machine and between the two take track measurements for future work. This is built onto a Heljan class 17 chassis which is chipped. I have yet to put lights in but that is a future job.
tamperman36
Next a pair of tampers, first is a scratch built Plasser & Theurer 07-16. I found an article on building one many years back in the Railway Modeller magazine, I kept the article and about 5 years ago decided to build it. Second is a Plasser 08-16 that I built 4 years ago from photos using a Bachmann underground ernie unit chassis/drive. I intend to replace this with at least 1, possibly 2 kits of the clockwork models Plasser 08.
tamperman36
Two more tampers now, first is a Plasser 09-3XX high speed tamper built from a Kibri kit. This is HO scale and this unfortunatly does look small when seen alongside other rolling stock, I may yet build a OO (4mm scale) version. The second of these is a Matisa in Grant Plant colours modelled as a machine in a stabled condition with anti vandal screens over side windows, both these models are unpowered
tamperman36
Two ballast regulaters next, first is a Plasser USP5000C, this model is scratch built .These are now quite old machines and are growing rarer, once commonly found parked in sidings up and down the country. Both these models are unpowered. The second of the two machines is a scratch built Matisa. I got the basics of the design from studying photos and like most of my machines is not 100 percent accurate but they give a good representation I hope. 37038
They are great models. Don't worry about whether they are 1mm too wide or whatever, they certainly create an amazing impression.
Southernman46
There was one of those Permaquip welding trolley's in the up yard at Andover until about 2010 - wonder what happened to it - don't think it went for scrap ?
tamperman36
My biggest machine yet next. This is the Pandrol Jackson ( now Harsco ) Stone Blower. Like the real machine I have made the model argiculated with a conveyor bridging the articulation. This model is unfortunatly non powered however I do have plans to build a second machine which will be powered and chipped.

LongRail
I have built a Kirbri excavator which I have motorised, they are very nice kits albeit slightly small in scale but provided there is nothing to compare with they look ok.
