railwayrod
Keep up the good work Steve. I started Ramchester in my late sixties and with a lot of help from my friend Howard a great deal of progress has been made over the last 4 to 5 years. The important thing is to enjoy what you are doing and each bit of progress is a step nearer to completion. Remember that every great journey begins with a single step so don't get disheartened if sometimes progress does not seem to be happening. There have been times when Ramchester seemed overwhelming but we have stuck at it and now it is looking good - I'm pleased to say. There is still a great deal of work to be done before it can be considered finished but every session brings that day nearer. The big problem is that other projects can get in the way so one must guard against this but once in a while it is nice to dream. I have worked out that to build half the layouts that I want to build I will have to live to become a double centurion!! muddys-blues
Nice Steve, what livery are you planning for the 108 ? Headcodes or destinations on the cab roofs ? Best regards Craig.
spenc
Hi Craig At the moment undecided could be NSE,RR or BG long way off paint stage Head code will be blank. Steve
muddys-blues
Hi Steve, just to point out these units never saw RR livery, and the NSE units had destination type roof domes, the Bachman 4mm model is incorrect, and the running numbers given to the model where wrong also. Hope this helps. Happy modelling Craig
spenc
Hi Craig thanks for the info so thats narrowed it down to two have you started your units yet?. steve
muddys-blues
Hi Steve, I'am just in the process of gathering info for my 121 DMBS and 121 DTS, the DMBS will be a Cardiff allocated unit in blue grey with Red Dragon Valley markings, and the DTS will have be a Reading allocated unit on loan to my area of the layout I am hoping I can get away with NSE original upswept livery but this is dependent on vehicle dates and repaints. I am also threatening to myself to lay some track on the BLT boards next week. Happy modelling Craig

spenc
Hi Craig,Rod It's starting to look like a 108 now I should be able to crack on now the schools are out back to 4 days . These last two days i have been off so up till now I have put all the bits on filled gaps and put the first primer on when dry bit more filler then a bit of rubbing down and more primer off out for tea so when I get back I will crack on with the under frame here's some pictures of what's been done so far.Craig not decided yet I think NSE livery looks great but it's doing all the different colours is putting me off and getting it right I have been studying pictures of DMUs so it's a case of watch this space if not it's B/G.
