Richard Pike
MXA - Nice! There's a BAA been converted in a similar fashion - MVA 910164. Now where's that Cambrian kit? Cheers, Mick Thanks to Mick, my small project has just doubled in size
Richard Pike
My Two wagons are finished, MXA MVA Quite an easy couple of projects but very rewarding and something a little different.
Richard Pike
Another project completed was a rake of 9 MBA wagons for use on scrap traffic that I have been weathering for the last couple of months. I am pretty sure that's Big Jim driving.
Richard Pike
Final project completed for this month is 66751 with its newly fitted Dellner coupling for the IEP project and whilst I was at it thought I had best make a mini IEP for it to haul around.

Jack374
Absolutely brilliant modelling Richard, a refreshing take on today's rail scene, and a very canny idea to repaint a 'Javelin'. Just one Q....how are you going to couple them?! Hope you've thought it through! Jack.

Hi Jack, I have cut open the nose and installed a Keen close coupler and just used a NEM bar coupler from a Bahmann intermodal flat. i did try making a magnetic coupler but that didnt quite work out to plan.

And I forgot to say the DB wagons look good, was this a BRA steel wagon at one point?
rs4
Stunning work here Richard, you have been very busy. Cutting edge stuff, bang up to date, go any further and you'll be operating in the future !
Richard Pike
The DB wagons.....the MXA is converted from a BRA Bogie Bolster, in my case a RTR Bachmann model and the MVA is based on a BAA, this one built from a Cambrian Kit. I understand that the two prototype wagons have been built as trails vehicles to utilise wagons that are currently stored

WCML100
The kit I used was Cambrian C22. And what about for the wagon box itself?
Richard Pike
The wagon box's are simply made out of plasticard, I just scaled them from the photographs of the wagons that I had, primed, painted DB red and then decals applied. I got the TOPS panel decals made up by John at Precision labels.
Richard Pike
Currently I have 9 loco's under going repaints, so I thought I would add or replace their handrails with my own made efforts. Firstly I added a measured piece of plasticard to a set of square nosed pliers to form a very basic bending jig. I then set about making 40 of them and attached them to a piece of card ready for the paint shop. The fun of installing them to follow.
