GordonC
I was looking at an old Platform 5 Coaching Stock book from 1989 and it looked like there were 2 Air Conditioned Mk 2D coaches based at Heaton which were showing as being in Provincial livery and presumably branded as Trans Pennine I don't remember ever seeing any air conditioned Mark 2s on the Trans-Pennine trains in anything other than BR Blue and Grey livery. Is the book correct?

GordonC
Thanks That just seems to mention some air-conditioned FKs being transferred from Scotrail to those services, not second-class coaches It was coaches 5520 and 5614 which are listed in the book as being in Provincial livery
RMweb Premium keefer Posted January 5, 2015 RMweb Premium Share Posted January 5, 2015 gordon, posted a couple of links in the other thread - looked up the numbers and 5520/5614 are mk2c i.e. not a/c?
GordonC
Ah!! You're right!! They are Mk 2C's! I thought I was going mad there, so I went back to double-check it and the book is wrong, but not in the way I was expecting in just having the livery code wrong. It has them listed as Mk 2Ds, although the photo of one of them (5614) a couple of pages earlier is correctly captioned as a Mk2C!! Well that answers that then! Thanks!
