ben pez
Hi Im thinking ahead here for my layout im currently building of ais gill summit. Im going to scratch build the " ais gill summit sign" that was and still is up there. By hopefully scanning a photo and sizing to scale Only problem is using google images i can only find pics of the new one that is up there now! Not the one that was up there in the 1960s. Can anyone kindly help? Many thanks Ben

37114
It looks straightforward to draw up on a computer, can you confirm what the second line of text says and I can draw it up for you?
Guest
If you do find a decent pic, there's little chance that it will have been taken "head on" and therefore might not be suitable to resize and print, in other words, it could look a little "distorted". If you can find out the font that would have been used on the original, consider using a simple "paint" program to make up the sign as a graphic you can then print. Edit: beaten to it by Rob... "What he said"!
JZ
It should read 1168 feet above sea level. It looks to be the standard typeface used for station signs.

delticman
I think the original typeface was appropriately enough "Gill Sans" Geoff
