JeffP
I've read of people who have done the Britannia and the A4. Both produced decent models, but were quite a lot of work...not for the faint-hearted, and maybe best left to experts.
bennyboy
I did and I still couldn't catch Roadrunner.
Jinty3f
I'll have a go at building one if it will help clear my spots.

Thank Scott Unless I am mistaken the kits did not originally come with a motor so was yours sold as part of a deal or did you get it second hand? N15class
Morning Im looking to build a acme kit. I want to build a hall but was woundering what they are like to build and what the motor is like that comes with the kit? Any advice would be great. Thank Scott I have built 3 or 4. some are harder than others. The Ivatt 4mt I would not recommend unless you have built a few kits. Most need a lot of builder input. They come from various sources so it would be better for you to say which one you want to build, we can then say if it is a kit worth doing.
Earl Bathurst
Hi They sell the kit seperate or kit, wheels and motor. I like the hall? But since the original post also see skorpio models do a hall aswell so which would be a kit? scott
JeffP
Scorpio. Or: http://www.justliketherealthing.co.uk/gwr-69597929-modified-hall-class-o-gauge-loco-kit-p-110.html?cPath=
Kev_Lewis
As does Warren Sheppard: http://www.warrenshephard.com/index.htm His kit is currently £315, with tender. Which is over £200 cheaper than the JLTRT offering, once you add the tender to the price. The JLTRT kit does have the advantage of the resin smokebox/boiler/firebox though. N15class
The ACME hall builds into a good loco. See my rebuild of one here Not an ideal loco for a first build. One of the 0-6-0's from Connoisseur Models would be better.

Kev_Lewis
Thanks to Kev Lewis for the link to Warren Shepherd. No problem Jeff. I'm itching to get my hands on one of Warren's kits, they look very good. Maybe a 45xx in a couple of years.
JeffP
Sadly, he only does one LNER type, so not relevant to my modelling, however good they are.
