Just for a laugh, could Class 53 1200 "Falcon" be a honorary Western?

I'm pretty sure that Brush's Class 53, 1200 Falcon had the same engines as a Western and was basically the same concept except it was DE rather that DH, could it be possibly considered as a honorary Western as it doing it's last on the Western Region at the same time as the Western's.

 

I always like 1200 and only ever saw her twice (at EJ), shame that she was cut up because of legal contracts.  If the same thing happened now I'm sure Brush, BR and Cashmore's would have been more flexible.

One machine I sadly missed but a western in sound although some say she sounded like a hymek.

There's a group of dreamers talking about building a replica of Kestrel. They were also talking about a replica of Falcon and Lion (and a whole host of other locomotives too). I don't know when they plan to build them, but apparently they have sold a couple of dozen printed mugs so far, so are only about £8,999,880 short to build them all.

 

 

Perhaps its time to build a replica and get it on the main line.
