Hobby
On another forum we've been running a February Kit Build Competition where we all chose a kit to build and then did a sequence of photos detailing the build. I thought it might be of interest. Kenton
On another forum we've been running a February Kit Build Competition where we all chose a kit to build and then did a sequence of photos detailing the build.I have never seen kit building as a race - though it sometimes feels like a race against time -[a] will I ever build them all in my lifetime the client that thinks the parts go together aka Airfix [c] we don't all work at Jazz's speed I do like to see photos used to follow a kit build, on here and even more so in the manufacturer/designer's instructions. Fortunatly this is becoming more common by the better suppliers now. An unusual prototype. I'm guessing NG ? I wish some of the kits we have had so few parts. (was the race restricted to kits with only a few parts?
Hobby
Yes, it's a 760mm wagon from the JHMD in the Czech Republic. It wasn't a race, BTW, but, as in any competition there has to be an end date... Actually it's been a lot of light hearted fun and there have been some rather unusual kits been built and not all railway ones... If it were a race then I don't think I'd have bothered as it takes the fun out of modelling!
RMweb Gold Colin_McLeod Posted February 18, 2015 RMweb Gold Share Posted February 18, 2015 Nice sequence of photographs Hobby and an unusual and interesting prototype. If it were a race then I don't think I'd have bothered as it takes the fun out of modelling! I agree, I never think of model railways as a competitive sport. I am in it for the pleasure it gives me and my like minded friends.
jwealleans
Didn't we do a 'kit in a week' a couple of years ago? EDit - we did, in July 12. ISTR Mr Cheeseplant started it (apologies if I'm wrong).
