They are almost here. http://www.lionhearttrains.com/news.php?page=news

Richard tells me he is expecting them fingers crossed on Thursday and if they clear customs quickly he will have them at the O Gauge Guild Summer Show.

As soon as I get mine I will get some photos etc on here ASAP after getting it out of the box.

Richard has got the box colour absolutely spot on with this new model which I collected at the Gauge O Guild Summer Show on Saturday.

Gold box holding the gold standard of RTR 7mm locos. I only have my I phone with me to take photos of it and do not do this model justice. Even with a high quality DSLR you would struggle to capture all the fine detail that goes to make up the GWR 43xx loco. It has to be seen close up, in the flesh to fully appreciate it.

Here are a few snaps off my iPhone to show what it is like and if I get chance this coming Sunday I will do some photos at home on my layout as well as a video if time permits. The inside working motion is very impressive !

DCC and sound of course fitted in mine which is the excellent Zimo decoder . Not only has the quality of the model notched up to an al time high the sound project has taken similar steps and is very good. Some interesting tweaks add to the operating fun of this superb model.

Here are some photos I took today of random bits of this excellent loco.

I have also now had chance to run it and it is by far the best runner I have . I thought the previous Lionheart locos were good but this takes things to a new exceptionally high level. The slow speed running capabilities of it have to be seen but put aside a few hours to watch it do a few inches. It really is that slow!

I will try to do a video, not of the slow running as it really is to slow to show, but general running and the sound.

I have been experimenting with my newish camera a Samsung NX1 finding out what its like doing some model railway stuff.

The outdoor results from the camera are stunning.

Sorry about the poor driving of the loco and the shaky video but doing both at the same time is not easy.

The link is a dud, I'm afraid.

Try this

Thanks Dave, you beat me to it. I was just about to update the link.

Out of interest, how do you get the video to appear in the post you did. I cannot seem to get it to work like that. It used to work all the time, no clever stuff needed but now its a hit and miss affair.

Nice, it really shows that sense of weight and mass that is missing in the smaller scales.

I am in Guernsey at present which is very nice in itself apart from the fact there are no old railways to explore, so I am having withdraw symptoms at present. Where would we be if it was not for these forums ? Probably doing a lot more modelling to be honest .

Hi Martyn

O gauge does lend itself to weight and size. When I look at 4mm stuff these days it does look so puny and N gauge items some thing a O gauge modeller would find on an etch as a detailing part :jester:

If you do get chance to attend a show where Richard is pop over to his stand and have up close look.
