  1. It's a very nice model of a beautifully proportioned prototype. The green looks rather too blue to me in the photograph, probably down to lighting and/or camera settings. Out of interest I used Photoshop to set the smokebox to grey (i.e. to remove the colour cast) and I think the result looks more like GWR green:

  2. Hi Woodbine, the early ones were a peg on the rod , but I tried the collar on the twin. I think the collar may be a bit less fiddly. Perhaps the ultimate would be a threaded rod with adjustable collars, next layout maybe.

  3. Thanks . I must admit I routinely forget just how slender it is in certain areas. Stability on the legs can be a minor irritant, but scenically it has just never become an issue.... Thee is actually a 3 road fiddle yard behind that retaining wall

  5. I tend to glue and clamp only, in theory screws, nails etc are only there to hold the joint together until the glue has dried and set. In our modelling sort of application I don't think any additional strength possibly provided by screws is particularly necessary, although it does speed up construction as the screws take the place of clamps. 6. Life has not been easy over the past few months has it. I have found myself in a similar situation to yourself and have been modelling hard to help me through it. It is great to see that you have also managed to keep yourself busy.
