  1. Good evening, everyone. Firstly, thank you, 31A, for your memories about the railtour from 2014. It’s great to hear from someone who was on that train. Here are more photo’s to enjoy, thanks to John Turner, the KDH archive, robmcrorie, and Jack Beeston Rail Photography, all on Flickr. Firstly here’s a photo’ of 47077 "North Star" and 40074 stabled at Botanic Gardens (BG) TMD, Hull, on the 16th January, 1983. Next we see, on the 23rd of March, 1985, 31458, on the 09.50 Hull to Leeds service at Brough. The third photo’ depicts 'WD' class, 90670, as it heads a train of empty coal trucks over Hedon Road Bridge after a fairly heavy fall of snow on Hull, on January 12th, 1967. Finally, here’s a photo’ of 66751, passing Melton, which is train, 6C72, loaded coal boxes from Hull Coal Terminal to Eggborough P.S. on the 14th March, 2014. Best regards, Rob.

That’s a fantastic set of photo’s of Rocks by Rail at Cottesmore with one of the iron ore sidings in 1972, and a random image of a loco at Shildon at the S&D 150 in August, 1975. I particularly like C6174, at Cottesmore, with Peckett 8 and Barclay, in August, 1983. An interesting photo’ of the two locomotives. The photo’s of places beginning with M are a superb selection. The first photo’ at Mallerstang, of a 9F on an up freight train, in August, 1965, is truly outstanding view of a typical ‘steam train in the countryside’. Very best regards, Rob.

Firstly we see Class B1, 61110, on Scarborough shed, on the 9th August, 1962. The second photo’ depicts 47812, which after standing at Hessle Road No 4 signal for 1 hour 45 mins it finally gets the road off the Hull Docks branch and crosses Hessle Road Junction with train, 4D95, the 16:45 Hull Coal Terminal - Doncaster Down Decoy yard, on the 6th August, 2014. Thirdly we have a photo’ of 66091 with 66132 on the rear at Southcoates Lane with the KX - Hull docks Humber Bosun railtour on the 13th July, 2014. Finally here’s a photo’ of 20312 & 20308 as they depart from Hull Paragon Station with train, 0Z30, the 09:45 York - York route learner, on the 21st March, 2013. Best regards, Rob. P.S.   4. Good evening, David. That’s a superb set of photo’s of Switzerland at Buchs from 1988 and 1990. I particularly like the first photo’ of OBB Class 1044, 1044 122, on the EC Transalpin, from Basel to Wien, on the 1st August, 1988. A most expertly composed photo’. The photo’s of the ECML in County Durham at Ferryhill, Sunderland Bridge and Croxdale viaduct, are a fantastic selection. C20575, at Sunderland Bridge, with a Class 91, on a Kings Cross to Newcastle express, on the 24th October, 1995, is a most atmospheric shot of the train in the late October sun. The first photo’ shows a view of BR green liveried Brush Type 2, D5845, as it accelerates away from Bridlington with a south bound Class 1 passenger train, in August, 1964. Next is a photo’ of 20305, leading, as it passes Crabley Creek at the head of, 3S14, the RHTT 11:40 Sheffield - Hull, on the 13th November, 2018. The third photo’ depicts the preserved V2, 60800, Green Arrow, making a storming departure from Scarborough, on The Scarborough Spa Express, on the 27th August, 2000. Finally here’s a photo’ of 66559, on the 14.13, Hull Kingston Terminal Fhh to Doncaster Down Decoy Flhh, on the 11th January, 2014. Best regards, Rob.
  6. Good evening, David. That’s a superb set of photo’s of the Great Eastern at Church Lane crossing, and Chelmsford. In particular I like the last photo’ at Chelmsford, with 37014 on a down express, on Saturday the 4th March, 1978. A splendid composition in the weak early March sun. The photo’s from between Peterborough and Grantham are a fantastic selection. The last photo’ at Swayfield, with a Class 55, on a down express, in December, 1974, is a superb shot of the train the low December sun. A stunning sight. Very best regards, Rob.
  7. Good evening, everyone. On this sunny evening here are four photo’s to enjoy. They are thanks to roger5450, Woolwinder, Syd Young, and Philip Wheldale, all on Flickr. First we look at 61306, 90670, 61289 and 90378, around a turntable, in Hull Dairycoates, on the 29th April, 1967. The second photo’ is a view of Driffield, with a two car 101, with a refurbished DMBS, and a non refurbished DTCL, on the 16th May, 1979. The photo’ was taken at 14.57, and the unit on a Hull service. Thirdly we have a photo’ of a Deltic with Finsbury Park white Cabs. It is 55012, Crepello, as it waits to leave Hull Paragon with train, 1A18, the 12:45 Hull to King's Cross on the 1st March, 1980. Lastly we see 66747, on the 7th March, 2014. It is at Hessle, on train, 6C72, the 09:45 Hull C.T. - Eggborough. Best regards, Rob.
  8. Good evening, David. That’s a fantastic set of photo’s of the Thames Haven branch (Shell Haven branch), and the Great Eastern in Essex and Suffolk. In particular I like C3561, at Manningtree, of SR Class S15 841, Greene King, & Class 31, 31125, on a special train from Liverpool St to Dinting, in October, 1977. A beautiful three quarter portrait shot of the steam locomotive. The Northumberland ECML photo’s north of Morpeth but south of Alnmouth, are a superb selection. C6011, at Widdrington station, with a Class 254 HST, on an up express train, in April, 1983, is a most impressive photo’, superbly composed, of the iconic train. Very best regards, Rob.

Firstly we see a rebuilt B16, 61421, departing Bridlington, in c1963. No other details are given. Secondly here is a photo’ of 47280, on an engineering train, at Beverley, on the 12th April, 1987. The third photo’ depicts a train departing Hull on the 31st March, 1985, with 31459 on the 17.33 service to Manchester. Next we have a photo’ of 55012, Crepello, as it sets off from Paragon station on the 1st March, 1980, with train, 1A18, the 12:45 Hull - King's Cross. And now for the advertising poster from c1968. It shows a class 105 Cravens unit on the Scarborough to Hull service, rattling away! Best regards, Rob.
  10. Good evening, David. That’s a superb set of photo’s of the Midland Railway. J5438, at Willington Junction, with Class 46 46116, on a Plymouth to Sheffield cross country service, in August, 1976, is an excellent composition of the train by your Dad. The photo’s of the ECML north of York at Pilmoor and Raskelf are an excellent selection. In particular I like the last photo’ at Raskelf, with a Class 55, D9018, on a Kings Cross to Scotland express in July, 1966, a beautiful shot of the Deltic at speed. If the photo’ was taken on a Sunday, according The Napier Chronicles, the train, 1A28, went as far as Edinburgh, or Aberdeen during the week. Very best regards, Rob.

Firstly we see 47843, on train 4D95, at Welton, on the 9th July, 2014. It is seen heading towards Welton Crossing on the train of gypsum to Doncaster Down Decoy. Next is a photo’ of 47377, on the 13th February, 1991. It is seen leaving Hull with train, 6D93, from Saltend to Doncaster. The third photo’ shows Doncaster (36A) shed K3 2-6-0, 61964, as it passes the gas works at Brough (East Yorkshire) with a Hull-bound Class D express freight, on the 20th June, 1959. Finally here’s a photo’ of 31435 & 47287 stabled at Botanic Gardens (BG) TMD, Hull, in March, 1984. Best regards, Rob.
  12. Good evening, David. That’s an excellent selection of photo’s of Harescombe and Headingly. J2891, at Harescombe, with Class 45 No 30, on a down express passenger train, in April, 1972, is a superb photo’, and shows a typical train of Mkl’s hauled by a Peak. The black and white photo’s of Trent are a fantastic set. In particular I like the last photo’ of Jubilee, 45608, Gibraltar, on a Bradford and Leeds to St Pancras service, in December, 1954. Secondly we have a photo’ of 66735 "Peterborough United" at Gilberdyke, on the 5th August, 2024, on train, 6D25, the 08.50 Rylstone Tilcon (Gbrf) to Hull Dairycoates Tilcon Gbrf. The third photo depicts B1 4-6-0, 61128, at Brough with an 'up' stopping train from Hull, in June, 1959. Finally, let’s look at 47812, on the 28th August, 2014, at Gilberdyke, working train, 4D94, the 12.23 from Doncaster Down Decoy to Hull. Best regards, Rob.
  14. Good evening, David. That’s a fantastic set of photo’s of the Midland line between Nottingham and Newark at Lowdham and Thurgarton. I particularly like the first photo’ of the station buildings at Lowdham, in August, 1972. A beautiful portrait of them. The photo’s of the Blyth and Tyne are a superb selection. C14575, at Cambois, of track machine DR72201, on the 26th July, 1990, is a delightful photo’ with the machine by Plasser and Theurer, USP 5000 C, in the centre of the composition with good details to be seen. They are thanks to John Turner, Peter Brumby, SNAPPER60809, and Crewcastrian, all on Flickr, Firstly here is a photo’ of Dairycoates (50B) allocated Gresley B16/2 (rebuild of Raven B16/1) 4-6-0, 61437, near Brough with a Hull-bound freight, on the 30th July, 1963. Next we see 37688, on a Scarborough to Derby R.T.C.(Network Rail) working, on the 14th September, 2014. In this photo’ we have a Class 110 DMU at Scarborough, on the 25th August, 1980. It appears to be on a shunting movement. Finally here is a photo’ of 40 40077 at Scarborough again on the 25th August, 1980. Its Bank Holiday passenger train has just been taken off to the sidings by an 03, releasing the Class 40 to run out of the platform. Best regards, Rob.
