  1. Is it quite light on its feet? That was a characteristic of the P2k version, I think Roco added a traction tyre later. Mine maxed out on about 20 wagons and slipped.
  2. I dunno about Athearn but Proto2000 certainly did it as I had two and it looks identical to their rendition, I think they were later sold under the Roco brand too as I think they made them for P2k.
  3. The only issue I had with barriers was the Austrian layout that was so close it was behind bars 😆 People leaning on the barrier hanging over the layout blocked it from view so you could only look down on it. Which rather spoilt the experience. Barriers do wander and I’ve several times moved them forward or backwards around layouts but they are a nice place to rest especially as many light pelmets are right in my face. About two foot away is my ideal so heads and stuff in peoples hands don’t obscure the view. I had to pick my moments as this chap moving his rolled up Showguide around kept getting in the middle of pics 😆
  4. Always worth stopping at Grantham to watch the trains go by 😀
  5. and another one to follow on the investigation.
  6. Thanks for the list, very useful 😀
  7. Absolutely brilliant Lando and team! 😁
  8. So the layouts, reference books, DVD’s etc weren’t worth it too? 🤫
  9. Excellent show! Busy but not packed, pleasant temperature and loads of good layouts. A fitting tribute to Nigel Mann and huge thanks to Heather who I understand pulled it all together. The upstairs seating above was a great place to eat lunch and watch trains below. Loads of trade and as good a mix of books, tools, electrics, rtr and secondhand as I’ve seen. Chatted to a couple of traders and they said it was busy for them. Might need some taller legs here chaps ;) Steadfast, Jo greeting with a smile at the entrance :) This caught my eye, but I think they forgot something before weathering it! 😉
  10. The bridge looks superb and more to the point should be resistant to knocks far more than a plastic one of any internal design!
  11. Well it’s been a while . . . but I’m now testing some finishes . .
  12. Oh p** it’s a work weekend once more and the daft policy of not confirming Sundays off until the Thursday before means impossible to plan for!
  13. Ok so a couple of my modular layouts are one layout that can be arranged in different ways depending on the hall but it’s still one layout to one theme. I do group modular layouts too but the two personal layouts use the same principal so the standard for inter connectivity has nothing to do with precluding them. At the end of the day whichever arrangement they are assembled in the line length, trains and physical area are identical!
