This is now getting closer and I can confirm two further layouts:

Portpyn 1:34, Narrow gauge port, Southern England (6' long)

Hinksey Yard N gauge, DBS (EWS), Oxford 2010 (20' x 2'9")

We will also have a static display of part of Epsom Station (covering the current station through to the end (west end) of East Street). Members of the Twickenham & District MRC will be demonstrating aspects of the design and construction of their new O gauge layout Addison Road (Kensington Olympia) using modern innovative techniques.

We will also have displays from the 2mm Scale Association, the South Western Circle and the Gauge O Guild

Cheers,

Dave

Having endured the great boxing day floods, Leicester South will be at it;s first exhibition since the heavens opened. Fortunately the layout, and the club rooms have survived. Leicester will be making its way south next week without resort to armbands or amphibious transport.

Don't forget it's the excellent Epsom show this coming weekend with many fine layouts on show and a good selection of traders.

The South London Area Group of the Scalefour Society will be there with 'St Merryn' and we look forward to welcoming many of you so do please come along

Steve

It sounds like quite a dramatic time in your clubrooms.  We are looking forward to seeing you.

In other news, Wealistic Models have unfortunately had to pull out.

Cheers,

Dave

A member of Shipley MRS pointed me to this: https://youtu.be/ugqn-dWu8Gk

Baildon Recreation Centre, where they have their clubrooms (upstairs fortunately) appears at about 1:25 in.

Thanks for the link, I've been too busy to post.  The good news is that the council have started to refurbish the building. Unfortunately to late to save the September exhibition from cancellation, however activity in the club rooms will resume latter this year.

If you are at Epsom, then we will have two new trains running for the first time, one bound for Swansea and the other running from Lambourn to York, can you guess what that might be?

Will you have stools for kids?

Regards

Hi,

Yes, we'll have the usual "hop-ups" to let small children see the layouts more easily.  They will be available near the entrance desk. There should be a reasonable number, but at very busy times they can run out.

Cheers,

Dave

Thanks that, but I've just been told that No1 Grandson is too busy with a birthday party!

Clevedon is just about set up and ready to go. It was a bit of a journey yesterday so I didn't get everything done. Do come along and say hello if you're passing. It looks like a cracking show. With Epsom to one side and Leicester behind, I'm going to have to keep a strict eye on my fellow operators!

Right, time for breakfast!

Very good show today.

Good to see Leicester South GC back in action without too much damage as a result of the floods. Although the layout was stored clear of the water, there was severe condensation in the building so some of the boards suffered as a result of this. The Shipley crew could not put up the layout our check anything before transporting it to the show so it's a minor miracle it worked at all.

I liked the horse special and the Sheffield-Swindon with its Atlantic.

I too was very impressed with St Martin's Wharf and always enjoy seeing Leicester South. At the seaside looking and listening to Harlyn Pier was a welcome interlude. Bought a couple of very well made and weathered wagons, which were very cheap. So a very good day out. Well done Epsom and Ewell MRC.

St Martin's Wharf

The operators told me that this was the first time out for this brilliant layout

True and thank you for your comment.

We got our first practice operation just two week back and, for two of the operators, Saturday was the first opportunity for running  in earnest.  A simple track layout...  just a couple of uncoupling locations for the Alex Jacksons...  much fun learning how to shunt the yard.  Whilst a "Colonel Stephens" style layout the traffic density was more appropriate to Borough Market Jcn at times.
