Amazing the variety of locos working into Cornwall in early EWS days, you could model:

012,042,043,055,057,065,071,133, 153,154,156,175,191,216,218,225,262,244,274,350,351,375,384,402,407,411,417,503,515,517,518,676,679,683,692,694,698,703,709,not to mention the normal engines

Mainly coming in on the cliffe vale run - all photos in tail lamp

Hello,

A quick question and a bit of a shot in the dark but does anyone know a rough timescale when the refurbs were first intorduced, I'm guessing as soon as they were released from works? Trying to find out if I can get away with running them along with 37/0s.

Cheers,

Cheers,

There was a mix of 37/0s and 37/6s in Summer 1987; both 207 (Still carrying the "William Cookworthy" name later transfeerd to 675) and 674 were active when I visted Cornwall in June that year. The St Blazey 37/0 allocation had gone by the time the CDAs replaced the Clayhoods in 1988, but the odd banger blue 37/0 occasionally turned up on loan when St Blazey were a loco short.

Thanks Tim,

I've done a model of 196 Tre Pol & Pen and was at first thinking of 670, although that couldn't have lasted long in red stripe livery as it was involved in a collision with 671. To match my donor model the prototype would have to be one of the RSH built locos with the cantrail grille bars.

Cheers

Hiya - check the link in post #9 of this thread which will take you to an excel spreadsheet I posted on a previous incarnation of RMWeb which covers the BZ allocation from 1987 to 1989 with the various arrivals and departures...

Basically yes blue 37/0s and refurbs did coexist, but if you want to model that you need to model certain loco's in specific conditions...OTOH the proto info is out there to do that so more power to your elbow! :)

HTH
