D6775
Having just picked up a couple of these models at a very reasonable price I have turned my thoughts to re-numbering options - To my dismay I cannot find an option to re-number it to! 37501 - I thought this was delievered in RF Grey with the red stripe but can only find pictures of it in BS Blue. Also has RSH Grill's. 37502 - Very close but has RSH grills 37503 - RF Grey no red stripe. 37504 - RF Grey no red stripe. 37505 - RF Grey no red stripe. 37506 - Model as is, Large BR Logo red stripe curved under at the end of the tumbleholme. 37507 - RF Grey no red stripe. 37508 - RF Grey no red stripe. RSH Grills. 37509 - RF Grey no red stripe. Altered cant rail grills. 37510 - RF Grey no red stripe. 37511 - RF Grey no red stripe. 37512 - RF Grey no red stripe. 37513 - RF Grey no red stripe. 37514 - RF Grey with red stripe wrapped around the front of the nose, Medium BR Logo. 37515 - RF Grey with red stripe wrapped around the front of the nose, Medium BR Logo. 37516 - RF Grey with red stripe wrapped around the front of the nose, Medium BR Logo. RSH Grills. 37517 - RF Grey with red stripe wrapped around the front of the nose, Medium BR Logo. 37518 - RF Grey with red stripe wrapped around the front of the nose, Medium BR Logo. RSH Grills. 37519 - RF Grey with red stripe wrapped around the front of the nose or curved over the end of the tumbleholme, Medium BR Logo. 37520 - RF Grey with red stripe wrapped around the front of the nose, Medium BR Logo. 37521 - Believe this was delivered from re-furbishment in TTG. So unless anyone else can come up with a picture, it looks like pretty much a full re-paint then!! Al.
DRS37069
Just been having a look through various photos of refurb Thornaby 37/5's 37501 in original railfreight grey no red band, while allocated to Canton, painted into British Steel Blue at Thornaby http://www.flickr.co...011/6140717755/ 37502 in original railfreight grey no red band, while allocated to Canton, red band, then two tone grey metals livery at Thornaby http://www.flickr.co...011/6147747514/ and subsequently became this http://www.flickr.co...013/4682303586/ It is strange how 37519 was painted at Crewe Works in 1987 with full wrapped around red band, and subsequently was painted out on the nose ends very quickly at Thornaby http://www.flickr.co...011/6150061301/ . This can be compared with its livery in late 1989 http://www.flickr.co...ugo/4823881832/ So you are right in saying that the only ones in the same livery as the Bachmann model are 37502, 37506 and 37519, the others appeared without the red band, or with wrapped around red band

45059
I picked a couple up as well. One was changed to 520 with the addition of the wrap around red stripe and smaller double arrows. Two others donated their chassis for a couple of 37/0 shells I had. EWS 114 is now red stripe 032 and TTG 239 became 358 leaving me two spare, which, if they are going to need a full re-spray anyway, I may have a go at turning into 37/7s.. RMweb Gold CovDriver Posted May 16, 2013 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 16, 2013 I'm also in the same pickle here as I recently bought a model of 37506 in Railfreight redstripe livery and as the locomotive was named British Steel Skinningrove and also having large bodyside numbers I've opted to renumber the loco to 37520 and do a part repaint of the bodyside redstripe so it goes around the cab fronts as per the prototype. So I'll be looking forward to your results. Colin

D6775
Watch out with altering 506 to 068, I know you'll swap the nose ends, but the nose grills are different and the large logo's are different sizes. Should make a nice model!
45059
Although it would be easier to use a 37/0 shell Neil, you can replace the refurbished nose grills for the original type. And with 506 you do get the roof ribs and plated boiler port. My Grainflow is a re-sprayed 37114, so doesn't have these, but just to whet your appetite... Seen here with 032 and 250.
