Recommended Posts

Hello guys,

I need some assistance identifying modern rolling stock in some of my photos on my Flickr page (link is in my signature). I will post the photos up here of stock that need identifying. Any help is appreciated and just so I know what rolling stock you are identifying, please give me the IMG_(Number) reference please.

Right here's the first lot and many thanks!

IMG_0624 is a FGW HST Mk3 Trailer Restaurant First Buffet (TRFB)

It is a 402xx or 409xx TRB et al and not a 407xx TRFB

Oh and 'second' – lower case - is an adequate description even if the name is no longer ‘Second’. It’s similar to those who insist that we use ETS instead of ETH, or spell Sulphur with an F!

IMG_0617 and IMG_0622 are the recently refurbished Chiltern Mk3s with automatic plug fit doors.

Specifically TSOs 12623 and 12605

IMG_0624  - The FGW buffet is TRB 40204 if you look at the large version - Ian, FGW have ones from a variety of sources, with a variety of shells and different window arrangements, some are 'officially' TRB, some TRFB, but all the FGW ones are in everyday practical terms "first class restaurant buffets"

IMG_0637 - Specifically Freightliner FEA-B number 640341 - 640341 is half of a paired set of these intermodal spine wagons. From the reporting marks of DRYU we can tell the 40' high cube container is owned by SeaCube (formerly Seacastle) - who are a US based container leasing company.

IMG_1420 - Class 180 Car 59903 (MS?) - that would mean it's from set 180103 assuming it's not misformed.

Hey guys! Thanks for all your help in naming these photos!! It's greatly appreciated as my main focus on my Flickr page is preserved railway rolling stock but now starting to take photos of current mainline rolling stock as well. I have looked your replies and come up with names for each photo. If you can look at the names I given and tell me if I need to edit any of them then please do.
