GWC1
I'll be there - but then I am one of the organising group, so that probably doesn't count! In addition to the layouts Nick has listed there is also Crown Street in P4 and there may be another specialist room in the form of the 'electronics zone', like last year. Arrangements are not yet finalised on that one. New demos this year are resin casting, by Graeme King, and 3-D printing by Andy Edgson, of Isinglass Models. doctor quinn
That looks very nice and is right up my street but I can't see it on the list of layouts attending! Thanks for that - it got lost in an edit. Rowington for Shrewley is attending and I've just added it to the list at the start of the post. doctor quinn
This exhibition is the debut of the Nottingham MRS O Gauge project "Market Witham", this week Chris and Oliver have been debugging the control panel, and some pictures of the signal box by Hayden. great central
Received the voucher, well the email to print, for a pair of First class tickets courtesy of East Midlands Trains. These will be given to the winner of a draw of the feedback forms which is included in our guide. The only requirement is that you fill in the comments slip (good or bad) and add your name and address so we can send the boys round to people making negative comments so we can send you the form to claim the tickets if your comments slip gets drawn out of the 'hat' (more likely to be a bucket or box)

davep101
Hiya guys and girls, As some of you know, we offer in the guide a chance to win a pair of East Midlands Trains 1st class tickets, this year is no different so do look out for this, but this year we've managed to get something extra special, in the form of a private depot visit to Derby Etches Park, more details will be available in due course, so be sure to keep an eye on our entry on here and our facebook page, if you have any direct questions, dont hesitate to ask me on here via PM. GWC1
Latest News: We have now finalised the line up of exhibitors. We have 27 layouts in scales from N to O. We have quite a lot of large layouts - the sports hall for example, is dominated by two huge O gauge layouts. We have also increased the number of demonstrations this year to include the latest modelling innovations, like 3-D printing and resin casting. We also have a small display of T gauge (well it would be small - T gauge is 3mm gauge: a scale of 1:450!). Over the coming days I will post more news and, hopefully, some pictures and information. GWC1
We have some impressive demonstrations this year. Possibly the biggest is about half of Lancaster Green Ayre. Jamie will be showing how to put up Midland Railway OLE in 7mm finescale. We will be watching with interest to see how different it is to the ex-LNER OLE we have on Deepcar and Netherwood! This demonstration is so big that we have had to take over another area at the school which we have labelled the 'preview area' as it also contains another large demonstration - contruction of 'Grantham the Streamliner Years'. Both layouts are booked in their finished forms for 2016. Next to Grantham we have Graham King demonstrating resin casting. Another exciting demonstration that I am lloking forward to is 3-D printing by Andy Edgson. This is an exciting new technology that is becomeing big in railway modelling. In addition to this we have all our regular demonstrators, the MERG Eelectronics Zone - this year with talks on model railway electronic tpoics, and David Wright of Dovedale Models showing model building construction. Quite an impressive lineup this year!
GWC1
Things are getting busy now. At the clubroom the team are putting the finishing touches to our new O gauge layout, Market Witham. I am slaving away over a hot printer (just how hot to laserjet printers get?) printing out the various info sheets for our exhibitors. I am also about to produce the competition forms for our amazing draw for a personal guided tour of East Midlands Trains' Etches Park depot - quite some prize! One of these entry forms has to go into each show guide, so quite a few still to print! Now, where is that midnight oil can....
jwealleans
Slight correction - it's 'Graeme' King. That's how we tell him apart from Graham Nicholas at Grantham gatherings.
LNER4479
Looking forward to bringing mini- Grantham along again this year. With a little bit of the fiddle yard as well, we will be running trains in an ad hoc fiddle-yard-to-terminus fashion (as at Warley). Some of Graeme King's latest creations will be offered the opportunity to stretch their legs. Compared to last year, the following developments should be on display: MPD turntable complete and in operation Peascliffe tunnel mouth Adjacent scenic developments Hope to see you there; do come and say 'hi' if you feel so moved

gr.king
Nice. Main station building in stone with single storey extension in brick? What's the supposed geographical location and is there a relevant prototype for that mixture of building materials?
doctor quinn
The main building is also brick though it's not immediately obvious in the pics. The building is based on Horncastle but with the single story block on the "wrong" side to suit the layout. Nick
gr.king
I'll have to come and look more closely at that brickwork at the show. Either the photos are very deceptive or I need to give myself another eye test.
RMweb Premium jamie92208 Posted March 15, 2015 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 15, 2015 Very much looking forward to dave and I bringing 13 of the 27 boards of Lancaster Green Ayre to the show. Hopefully i will be able to do a bit of OLE work and connect up the piece that's on the viaduct section. Come and chat to us. We will ahve the backscenes on and plenty of stock so the layouts should be starting to look something ike. A lot of the bare boards that we had at Warley ahve now got some groundcover on them.
