Thanks Joseph, The reason I ask is due to the different height between some of the plain track available (thick or thin sleeper). I originally stated that I would be producing the turnout kits in both thick and thin sleeper/timber versions, but think I am creating too many variables and roughly 95% of feedback I've had (before the poll) state they will be using thick sleeper plain track. So I believe I will be producing in thick sleeper only, which would align with Peco bullhead and new C&L Thick Sleeper. Thin sleeper plain line (SMP or the older C&L thin) would need packing up by approx. 0.5mm. EDIT: This post pushed into page 13, anyone who has missed it, please answer my polls on previous page (12). Thanks!

I know, I've tried them all. The problem I found with them is that they have a different 'flex to brittleness' ratio, for want of a better description. You need to add so much so that it's not brittle, that it becomes too flexible to the point the rail can flop around in the chairs... Not good. Add less and its too brittle again.

The blend of resins I have used are not standard off the shelf resins, they are specialty resins, each designed to add the desired properties. Then pigments designed for use with UV resin is added. The resins are not 'hobbyist' resins, they are very expensive sold in 5KG bottles minimum. One of the resins in the mix adds flexibility and reduces brittleness. They are also post UV cured for a few hours to stabilise the material. Standard 'home use' hobbyist UV resin is extremely brittle and could not be used. Almost as bad as Shapeways 'Frosted Detail' resin material. This is brittle as hell, although I see some 0 Gauge track pieces sold on there made from this. I know for sure, you wouldn't be able to do this with standard resins: Have I done a 5 year test on them? Of course not! But I have done my research understanding the resin properties and come up with a material that I believe is most suitable. Thanks, Wayne.

Thanks Keith, As it's nearing closer to Xmas, it's a dodgy time LOL I was hoping to get the EM Gauge kit sent to Patrick before Xmas. As it is, I've had to tweak many things dimensionally to keep within specified tolerances. Fighting against machine tolerances, printer resolution and material shrinkage, well, it's all just trial and error but takes a little time and revisions! I wont send anything until I'm happy. In the mean time, the 3mm Scale Society have also shown interest. I am very grateful for the various 'scale societies' showing interest, giving support and boasting my drive and confidence! But to answer your question, I am still on 'track' for a Jan/Feb release... Thanks again to everyone for your support! Regards, Wayne.
