  1. Is something up with Rmweb, all of a sudden, I can't reply or quote on my PC, neither on chrome, Edge or Firefox (replying on my phone)
  2. Hi Mike, It's always tough to estimate timescales when you're a one man band. After the B7 is released in all 3 gauges, I plan on working on a matching 1in7 diamond, single and double slips. Let's say around August to get all of the above kits released, including 00-SF versions. I would then work on a smaller A5 after that. In between I also need to work on the 3mm version for the 3mm society...
  3. Caravanning over Bank Holiday weekend, but don't worry, I'll be 3D printing in the caravan...
  4. Hi Guys, I've now released the 00 Gauge B7 kit on my website. This uses the 'DOGA Intermediate' standards with 1.2mm flangeways. https://www.britishfinescale.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=finetrax-00-b7 00-SF will take a little longer as I am still on the design and testing stage...
  5. Hi Guys, PDF templates are up. An A3 size version, and also split over 2 A4 pages: https://www.britishfinescale.com/v/vspfiles/pdftemplates/EM/Standard/B7/EM_B7_TEMPLATE_A3.pdf https://www.britishfinescale.com/v/vspfiles/pdftemplates/EM/Standard/B7/EM_B7_TEMPLATE_A4_Page01.pdf https://www.britishfinescale.com/v/vspfiles/pdftemplates/EM/Standard/B7/EM_B7_TEMPLATE_A4_Page02.pdf Hi Bob, It's always tough to estimate timescales when you're a one man band. 6. LOL, yes that's my next job, update links to instructions and template... Also need to take a few more photos, but hey
  7. Hi Guys, Proud day today, I have now officially released the EM Gauge B7 kit, ready to order on my website: https://www.britishfinescale.com/product-p/finetrax-em-b7.htm Hoping to get the standard 00 Gauge version on the website next week, followed by 00-SF by the end of the month. It's been a lot of work, but I'm finally getting there Thanks to everyones support, especially Patrick Hunt, Martin Wynne, KeithHC and Hayfield (John).
  8. Hi Guys, Batch of EM Gauge B7 kits now sent for delivery to the EMGS shop tomorrow, yay!

  10. Great. Are you planning on using cyanoacrylate to glue it to the ply timbers?
  11. Hey, Looking fantastic! What printer and material? Also what software did you design in? Are you planning on using cyanoacrylate to glue it to the ply timbers?
  12. Hi, I am currently processing the EMGS order. All bases are now printed, 40% of switch blades are milled. Need to finish and despatch their order before the end of this week. Production so far has gone very smoothly, but I have been a little delayed by other work and family commitments. I am then away (caravanning) over the Bank Holiday weekend with my wife and little boy. On my return, I will be concentrating on releasing the EM gauge kits on my website, followed by the 00 gauge version.
  13. Haha, I moved to Brighton in 1990 when I was 8, the second day my Dad treated me to a ride on the Volks
  14. It's 4mm from base to rail top, same as Peco bullhead and C&L thick sleeper flexi track.
  15. Hi Guys, Regarding timescales on releasing the kits. Since the EM Gauge Society are supplying me the code 75 bullhead rail, I am first prioritising fulfilling their order for EM B7 kits. EMGS members will be able to order direct from the EMGS store at a discounted price. This is going to be my first time processing a batch order, and I am still finding my feet in mass production, but it's looking good so far This will push the Standard 00 Gauge release to the end of this month. Thanks for your patience and support, everybody!

  17. After making the EM Gauge kit, I have a much better understanding of the manufacturing tolerances. I feel more confident that it's possible to produce a P4 kit, controlling the manufacturing tolerances to within the P4 standards. But proof is in the pudding and I'm no where near that stage yet
  18. Yes you can. Please refer the post above by Gordon S, this really sums up my thinking very well.
  19. The kits result in no 'under gauging' through the switch without a set bend. I have previously mentioned that I have designed it not to go under gauge... Regarding curving the turnouts. I did do a test on curving an EM Gauge B7. I curved a B7 in Martin's excellent Templot software until it said minimum radius was reached. I then printed this out. Currently I believe the best method to creating a curved turnout from my kits, is to insert both stock rails through the base to give strength to it before cutting the webbing. Once stock rails are in place, the builder can then cut the webbing of the ‘inner curve’ leaving the ‘outer curve’ webbing in place. Also, no webbing should be cut around the 4 timbers of the crossing V. Once cut, the turnout can be curved much like flexi track. Offer the base of to the template (or even just a curved line drawn) and match the curve as best as possible. It would need pinning and gluing on the template paper and left to dry so that it holds its shape. Once dry, the build can continue assembly as normal. With the turnout curved as much possible to minimum radius, and without any set bend, my test bogies and 0-6-0 free rolling chassis with AG drivers go through incredibly smoothly.
