  1. Suburban houses, the semi-detached ones you see with the mock tudor gable end above the double height bay window.
  2. two pieces of half round plastic strip sat on top of the other flat side to flat side, one attached to each coach with a track pin in a hole seems to look right for multiple units that would have had a drawbar instead of a traditional coupling I believe the creator of Frankland did this for his Southern EMU's
  3. Huzzah, A telegram, Southernboy is alive! Hope I haven't offended Southernboy, I was in a very jovial mood when I wrote it. Been looking forward to the next installment.

  6. a small play area near some housing / in the grounds of an apartment block? some larger shopping centres or museums have a small play area nearby.
  7. with regards to fitting couplings to coaching stock / bogie waggons do you attach the DG to the underside of the coache's buffer beam, or somehow to the bogie?
  8. Don't paint until everything is working properly and has been tested thoroughly and you are happy with it, I didn't wait, painted and now have some alignment issues that I'd overlooked and have to scrape paint off to re-solder a joint. ps, do you want to build me some baseboards when I've got space for my next project?
  9. English measurement is fine used to get in trouble in DT for using Imperial measurements since it was the 90's
  10. can not work out how to make a web address appear as one word in a post on the forum

Drop BR Lines a message brlines@aol.com; they helped me no end!!

  12. I've only just discovered Frankland and personally it's making me want to ditch my baseboards (having multiple alignment problems with them at the moment) and build a LMS variant of Frankland! The whole layout is reminding me of pictures I've seen of Bournville and other 'utopian' towns how big is Frankland?
  13. For what you get in the box the cost is fantastic (in a good way) I'm just on quite a tight budget and will need to see how many I'd need and where they should be positioned before going ahead with them, although will need to do so soon otherwise i'll be making more work for myself. so push once to pull off, push again to revert to danger?
  14. so very tempted but cost and size of base are putting me off. Does the signal revert to danger as soon as you release the switch?
  15. Glo Plug engines are also used on R/C 'nitro' cars there is often a brake disk fitted somewhere in the transmission on the rc car, larger scale ones such as 1/8th may have a central brake and also one as part of the differential, some have disk brakes on the wheels.
  16. half way through wiring and the soldering iron stops heating up :(

I've probably got a spare you can boorow Sunday.

  17. on a DCC sound layout also have a church with ringing bells (not too bad yet...) after a while the bells give way to the organ and singing (just record songs of praise) after this, the church's sound is a sermon being read and to acompany the lovely lights on the DCC sound layout lets have a couple of night clubs with the music booming out. if that doesn't do it, not much will!
  18. or just go dadaist with the questions http://www.xkcd.com/1018/
  19. I do really love Cross street, it's a great example of how to build a simple, yet busy layout.
  20. has anyone seen / able to do a 37 in LMS 10000 livery? preferably one without split head code trying to see if I can modify a 37 into being 10000 thank you
