  1. As usual, I’m helping out on the Wild Swan stand and was great to see Copenhagen Fields in Bristol. I took the rake of Steve Sykes wagons that are in my care down to run on the NLR where they looked very much at home. Not the best snaps but I will try to get something better tomorrow. Jerry
  2. Looks excellent Tim. I shall be bringing the short rake of the late Steve Sykes wagons that are in my care along with one of my Midland brake vans to Thornbury so it will have an approriate train to pull. Jerry
  3. I was caught snaffling extra short bread at close of play for the drive home - it was excellent - I did put my pennies in the pot! 😊 Jerry
  4. Was great to see you Pete, Kyle for next year would be perfect - we could have a 2mm corner - we don’t take up much space! 😊 Jerry
  5. As others have said, an excellent day. Not much I can add to what others have said other than a big thank you. If 2mm is required I shall be back agin next year. cheers Jerry
  6. Splendid day as usual. Sheep has set up HQ on the shelf behind me - here are his show essentials! Jerry
  7. just to say that I’m very much against linking cakes to the scale you model in! 😊 Jerry
  8. They’re only a pot of paint away Rob! I too have 54, but we are not as well served RTR in 2mm! Jerry
  9. As well as bringing the Wharf and my little 2mm demo I will also be bring several drawer units from the late Iain Rices collection containing all sorts of bits and pieces such as castings, wheels etc and a few 00 locos. There will also be some books- including a number from Iain’s US collection. Rob has kindly agreed that this won’t be on the bring and buy stand mainly because listing it all is all but impossible. I will be accepting offers/contributions, a proportion of which will go to the SWAG chosen charity, the rest is going to Iain’s family and Parkinson’s UK. Looking forward to seeing everyone on Sunday, cheers Jerry
  10. Hi Gareth, the buffer beam is double sided pcb, Jerry
  11. Just back from a splendid weekend in Cornwall helping John Greenwood with Wadebridge at the Helston clubs show in Pool, Camborne. An unusual visitor on Wadebridge shed was SDJR Fox Walker 0-6-0ST No 1. She is the latest product of our ongoing bartering and is completely scratchbuilt. As expected from the hand of JG, she looks and runs beautifully and only requires a few details before entering the paint shops. She’s now at home with me. Jerry
  12. That’s fantastically helpful Graham, very many thanks for taking the time to post your method Jerry
  13. Hi Graham, sorry to have missed you at York, the pictures and video look excellent. Quick question if I may. I have a fair bit of dry stone walling to do in 4mm and yours is very effective. Apologies if youve already outlined your technique on the thread, Ive had a quick look but couldnt find it, any chance you could outline your methods or point me in the right direction. cheers Jerry
  14. Well done John, looks like it was an excellent weekend. Although the family wedding I was press ganged into attending at the weekend was very good, I would still rather have been at York. We will be back next year with the late Iain Rice's Trerice - I will be in touch in a week or two when youve had a descent kip! Jerry
  15. We are off to Cornwall for the weekend to help John with Wadebridge at the Helston and Falmouth clubs show. Really looking forward to it, playing trains with John is always great fun. I will post pictures next week. Jerry
  16. Nice to see this thread reactivated . A Scottie is high on my list of locos I still need to build for Bath. Jerry
  17. You’re not helping Chris, I should be looking forward to a nice walk around the walls after the show followed by a couple of pints and a curry! ☹️ Dressing up and weddings are not my natural habitat!! Jerry
  18. No I’m at a family wedding today in Southampton so had to pull out several months ago. I was gutted as York weekend is one of my favourites of the year. We will be back in 2024 with the late Iain Rice’s Trerice and 2025 with Tucking Mill. Foxcote is now built into the home layout and is being retired from the exhibition circuit - it’s last outing will be Rail Wells this August. Jerry
  19. I have a 2FS HST which will unapologetically get a run into Bath now and again. We are occasional visitors to Laurie and Yeovil…..!😊😊 Jerry
  20. It pretty much amounts to the same thing but yes. Jerry
  21. Well I made up all the track bases I had, (still got plenty of rail), and this morning roughly laid them out and I have just enough to get all the way to the buffer stops under the roof with the main running lines as well as the Midland goods arrival line. Will have to order more for the various yards but I’ve got more than enough to keep me going for now. The Midland line to Mangotsfield is out of sight so I can do that in alternate sleepers copper clad. Before I get too carried away I need to think about, and build, the main station panel. I built all the Scale four lever frames a couple of years ago but nothing else. I need to be disciplined (sic!) and get this done so I can wire the various sections - there will be a few despite being DCC- and TOUs directly into it. What I don’t want is a temporary lash up for the wiring- these have a habit of becoming permanent and a constant source of irritation. We’ll see how this discipline concept goes- it’s not something that comes naturally! It’s Good Friday and sunny so spending the rest of the day in the garden. May even light the fire pit and get the guitars out later. Jerry
  22. Very pleasant, and productive evening in front of the fire. What a fantastic time saver Easitrac is -though the animals didn’t seem that gripped by how it has revolutionised the production of plain track! Mr Chunks (below), son of Minsky seen sprawled across the table above, was obviously out on a date as he would normally take prime spot in front of the fire! Jerry
  23. I got the main formation glued down this afternoon and was very pleased to find that my rigid, six wheel, test vehicle, which doesn’t take prisoners, rolled through very smoothly. Next job will be TOUs and some track either side of the formation so I can rig up some temporary wiring and test the formation properly. Jerry
  24. That’s a very kind offer Frank, many thanks, I may well take you up on that Jerry
  25. Thanks Ade. The big test for me will come with wiring it all up - that will tax my very limited knowledge in that department to the max! Jerry
