  1. Hello mdvle Indeed, yes. The Class 117 was listed with Class 118. We often list items 'combined' with a note that that is how a maker might view a subject for production. When one is announced, we will almost always delete the other - unless there is a very specific stated reason in The Guide. We often add 'Poll Team Notes' to refer to such instances. We originally took out the Class 116 also, but that has since gone back in (as Class 116/125). It's a bit like drawing a map of a sand dune...in the dark, in a Force 9 gale! And don't forget that The Poll is only a part of what market information makers get to their own offices. We have to make some compromises otherwise (such as) our listing of Class 313/314/315 & 507/508 would appear as five separate items. And SECR Wagons, Vans & Brake Vans would probably make a Poll of their own! And then how would we cope with vehicles that had gangways when made, but taken off later in life? Etc etc etc. We have to take an 'overall view' of what seems to be a reasonable method of listing and that varies slightly year by year. We cannot make 'hard & fast rules'; we have tried that, and it doesn't work. Brian (on behalf of The 00 Wishlist Poll Team)
  2. Hello everyone Many congratulations to Dapol, Rails & Locomotion Models on this announcement. We wish them every success with the project! In The Annual 00 Wishlist Poll, the loco has always been High Polling and went into The Top 50 in 2018. It came in at overall position equal 22nd. This announcement has come too late to be removed from The 00 Wishlist Poll 2019, but we will be sure to mention it within The Results. Brian (on behalf of The 00 Wishlist Poll Team) https://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/148198-qa-the-00-wishlist-poll-2019/
  3. Hello Trains4U Guilty as charged! Apologies for this. The category had been reviewed early on during our schedule and your announcement managed to somehow 'slip our net'. It has been removed from the 2020 data. The upshot for you is that you will 'get a mention' in The 2019 Results to account for the listing hiccup. The item was High Polling in 2018 - so we wish you all the best with the project. Brian (on behalf of The 00 Wishlist Poll Team)
  4. Hello again Waveydavey The Team has been able to come back to me much quicker than expected. We can't recall an actual reason for it not appearing, but it might date back to when the Class 108 model was introduced and a view was taken that it might 'spin-off' from that. It is now on the 2020 Agenda for you. Brian (on behalf of The 00 Wishlist Poll Team)
  5. Hello everyone Congratulations to Dapol, Rails and Locomotion Models on the announcement of the SECR D Class 4-4-0. We wish them every success with the project. The loco has always been High Polling but entered The Top 50 in 2018. It came in at overall position equal 22nd. Brian (on behalf of The 00 Wishlist Poll Team)
  6. Hello Robin Thanks for this but OO Works is not on our list of (what might be called) 'major' manufacturers. The line of distinction is somewhat blurred, but our view is that OO Works models are more towards very short run and virtually 'made to order' as opposed to being more readily available on-line or physically on shop shelves. We make note of the model in The Guide notes...so people can decide for themselves whether to vote for it or not. Brian (on behalf of The 00 Wishlist Poll Team)
  7. Hello Captain Many thanks... yes there is. Give me a while to dig out the info and I'll get back. Brian (on behalf of The 00 Wishlist Poll Team)
  8. Hello waveydavey I'm sure there is a good reason why it isn't there but give me a few days to consult with The Team and I'll get back to you here. Brian (on behalf of The 00 Wishlist Poll Team)
  9. Hello Downer Thanks for writing. Could I ask you to see the above post in respect of submitting suggestions? As I think I noted in an earlier post, LNER Locos category is already running at 'maximum permitted load'. We already have one loco on the Agenda and a couple more have been mentioned in this thread. Brian (on behalf of The 00 Wishlist Poll Team)
  10. Hello adb Many thanks for the comments. There are many ways in which The Poll listings could be presented and we have drafted many over the years...and another is already on the 2020 Agenda. We were going to split 1964-Current Freight into 1964-1994 and 1995-Current. However, it made more sense (this year) to split General Railway Service into two as it was almost at 'maximum permitted load'. I will certainly put your splitting idea on the Agenda, but please bear in mind that we try to keep The Poll in a 'standard format' as far as practical so that regular voters can easily find their way around. Would you like to submit some worked listing suggestions to us? You might see something that we can't. That is where your 'volunteering' offer would make good sense. Brian (on behalf of The 00 Poll Team)
  11. Hello John Thanks for writing. You are welcome to make suggestions but they would be appreciated in the form as previewed in the Advance Notice posting. Extract below. We tried the 'write-in' suggestions in 2012, but it creates more problems than it solves and takes an age to try to sort out. The Accurascale Survey was based on that 'free style', so we wouldn't want to repeat what someone else is doing anyway. The Post-2005 category is a little more manageable as the subject base is very much restricted. Brian (on behalf of The 00 Wishlist Poll Team) Extract from Advance Notice Can we still add any items for 2019? It’s too late for 2019 but you are welcome to suggest items for 2020 – after we ‘go live’ please – either on RMweb or directly to The 00 Poll Team at the email address below. To be considered, your individual suggestions must follow the style of The Guide: · A clear heading · About 200 words of explanatory text · One or two links We’re sorry if this sounds a tad over-bearing but The Poll is running very close to ‘maximum permitted load’. The 2018 new entries panned out as: · 0 Top 50 · 16 High Polling · 23 Middle Polling · 50 Low Polling (with 25 in the overall bottom 50)
  12. Hello everyone For those who haven't voted yet, can I give you a heads up concerning Category 21: Your Suggestions for Re-makes of Post-2005 00 Models? The category is for items made after 1 January 2005. A few voters are repeating items that they have voted for in the listings - which are all pre-2005 models. Many thanks Brian (on behalf of The 00 Wishlist Poll Team)
  13. Many thanks Chris - much appreciated as usual! The mum-in-law 'situation' seems to have settled now, so life is back to 'normal silliness'! Brian (on behalf of The 00 Wishlist Poll Team)
  14. Hello Woodenhead I know you were joking above, but I'd like to remind voters of what we say in the Q&A. Brian (on behalf of The 00 Wishlist Poll Team) Is there any limit to what voters can vote for? You can vote for whatever you would realistically wish to buy at any time in the future. Please note that The Team reserves the right to delete without query any entry that it feels is not based on that premise.
  15. Hello again Alistair I have now had a chance to check back on past Polls... The GCR J10 went in 'new' in 2013. However, it polled just 32 votes and ended up as the lowest-voted LNER loco and 11th from overall bottom. As we have struggled since then to contain new listings, I'm sorry to say that it has not been re-instated. We currently have 70 items in the LNER Locos list - and that is our 'maximum permitted load'. If lists get too long, we get complaints that voters can't find what they are looking for. This may sound 'stingy' but there are 20 listings categories. Just one new item in each adds another 20 to the total that Andy York has to 'computerise'. You don't need to be Einstein to calculate what effect 2, 3, 4 etc additions have on the overall total. Simple in isolation; almost impossible in practice when taken overall (unless items get announced). Brian (on behalf of The 00 Wishlist Poll Team)

  18. Thanks Charles That's partly why we provide The Guide pages which might help help you. See the hyperlinks in the top post on Page 1 as below. Brian (on behalf of The 00 Wishlist Poll Team) What is the running order of categories for the 2019 Poll? Each category below is a hyperlink to the relevant Guide page.
  19. Hello Captain Many thanks for the comments. We took a long and hard look at what we were listing. For many reasons, we initially dropped the N Gauge Poll. For this year, we decided to drop Industrial and Underground to concentrate on 'core content' of BR, its predecessors and successors. We had discussions with a number of RMwebbers about the deletion of Industrial and we spoke with the London Underground Railway Society (LURS) about Underground. The Poll is now much easier for us to run. We are all unpaid volunteers with no affiliation to, or financial support from, any makers. We had to make life a little easier for ourselves - or else the whole thing would have had to close! And none of us wanted that! Brian (on behalf of The 00 Wishlist Poll Team)
  20. Many thanks Phil Things may be settling now, but thanks for the concern. I thought it best to post something early rather than wait - just in case I get called away. Brian
  21. Hello Alistair It was in the Q&A OP...relevant section repeated below. Look forward to hearing from you. Brian (on behalf of The 00 Wishlist Poll Team) What if voters have: difficulty accessing The Guide; have comments on it; have any suggestions for 2020; or need impartial help or advice? Please email The 00 Poll Team: thepollteam@gmail.com. An acknowledgment will normally be sent within 24 hours, but a full answer might take a few days. We will also answer queries on RMweb.
  22. Thanks Alistair Could you have a look at the details in the posting to Clem above as to how make suggestions? Thanks Brian (on behalf of The 00 Wishlist Poll Team)
  23. Hello JohnR I can't give you a specific answer other than to say that there is potential for 30,000+ items that could be listed in The Poll. Your Poll Team has run this since 2012 and I can't recall having had a suggestion for this loco. If you would like to suggest it in accordance with the details in the posting immediately above, it will certainly go on The 2020 Agenda. Brian (on behalf of The 00 Wishlist Poll Team)
  24. Hello Clem Good to hear from you. Can I refer you to the extract from the Advance Notice below, please? Brian (on behalf of The 00 Wishlist Poll Team) Can we still add any items for 2019? 25. Hello everyone Bear with me today...I will do my best to answer asap but my 99.5 year old mother-in-law has had the temerity to have medical emergency! I may get called away. Brian
