There are only 2 unconfirmed Deltic's (which numbers escape me) that are not confirmed as traversing the route.
DP1 was sent over the route light engine for trials between Edinburgh and Berwick and travelled back to the Eastern Region over the route.
One of our members (WRHA) was a "bobby" at Stobs Camp and has a photograph of her in the sidings there.
I believe all the production series traversed the route but as I said 2 numbers need confirming.
With regards the 50's, I have heard talk of them but have no evidence for them at all.

The viaduct and plate girder section look just fine and I think it would be hard to spot that the buttress is in fact a solution to a slight short fall in length (if you hadn't mentioned it in the text).
I've never really been a fan of brick paper in any scale above 2mm but to be honest I cant fault the look of viaduct at all.
Very nice work and I look forward to viewing progress.
It gives a very impressive back drop to your excellent rolling stock construction skills.

No, thats nothing short of beautiful.
You have captured the power, presence and reverberating energy to a T.
Favoraites, save if you don't mind......
Absolute first class.

P.s. I don't know what your plans are re signalling or the proximity to the bridge but some v tall ones or duel acting signals would look immense........

Looking good. Please don't take this as a criticism but some chimney's for the cottage (s) would set the scene off perfectly.
Newton Jnc at Ayr had a tall box and with a wee footway from the retaining wall topped off with the railings you mentioned in your previous post could work nicely.
Keep going, it looking good and bearing fruit.

Simply beautiful. Very accomplished work and ingenuity with the tender coupling, pick ups and braking.
Well done and I look forward to your next post on painting (that's my blind spot. I'm alright at painting but nothing special).

Halfords, used to at least, produce a very fine mesh for car body work which with body filler I have used very successfully in the past to produce topography. I see know reason why this material or similar if not available and "no more nails" would not provide the same results. Indeed no more nails would provide a better key fo scenic materials and can be readily carved and roughed up to provide said key.
To me I think it would depend on the embankment height and the type of base board construction (open frame, flat earth etc). It looks flat earth from the photos?
A couple of formers to support it along the length will help. The mesh sheets if you can find them (I'm confident something similar must exist, its about a 2-3mm weave and A4 in size) is self supporting but will benefit from support as the landscape is applied.
I hope this helps and isn't too vague.

Top notch weathering both on the loco's and trackwork.
A good trial exercise for the back drop.
My own personal preference is for embossed materials in scales from 4mm upwards but you have achieved excellent results none the less Jon.
Always been a fan of the Deltics, inherited from my father who worked fro EE.
He ain't heavy....enough
