  1. Thanks for the info. I've ordered some blue plates (which comes with the crests too). Will be a bit different to a normal red plated one like 026. I just hope the crack doesn't get any worse in the post!

I won it last night for GBP33 on that well known auction site. As the damage is only on one side I can run it around the 'wall' side of the layout anyway!

  2. New question (that I think I have worked out!): Was 50032 the last 50 to retain original NSE? I've pickes up a cheap damaged 048 (got a huge crack on one side!) and am thinking of a renumber. I'm aware that the cab doors will need repainting white.

  3. Are the NEM pockets on the new new Bachmann 47's still moulded as part of the bogie frames, thus precluding any form of close-coupling, or are they at least pivot mounted on the bogie frames? I know that proper close coupling mechanism (???? la Hornby 31 & 50) is too much to hope for on a Bachmann loco...

I hope they leve things as they are. My Hornby 56 and 60 will pull the first bogie of most things when they go around corners - particularly S bends. Whilst a heavy weight on the first wagon solves the problem, it's still something i'd rather not have to do.

  4. Hi guys, many thanks for your kind comments, Leaford is a U shaped end to end layout approx 4m x 1.5m and has attended half a dozen exhibitions, Control is by DCC including pointwork, all of the locos and units that are used are sound chipped using Locsound chips, unfortunateley most of the pictures I posted did not give much of an NSE flavour mainly because I posted what was considered to be the best, there will more to follow.

I am having a few senior moments as I am not very computor friendly, I hope that this post is actually readable.

    Again many thanks.

I'm trying to think which show I saw it at - thought it looked familiar!
