Karl Crowther did an excellent article in MRJ 230 - I'll dig mine out and see what he did if you can't access one.

You can't go wrong with a few vee-tanks...please ignore the inappropriate motive power...I can't leave my fellow operators alone for two seconds...

I'm disappointed that the 'new' 8F still has an 8 pin DCC socket when 21 PIN is the defacto standard alongside the Next 18.
A basic upgrade to NEM coupler pockets would also seem overdue....

Some years ago I sold all my 00 stuff to Contikits. They gave me a fair price, paid part as a cheque and part in cash on the day (at my request). I live not too far away so took the stuff to them.

I know of at least one modelling friend who has had very good service from Contikits - he even drove a considerable distance to trade with them ......but he did have a life time stash to shift...

WFB appears to be some sort of chipboard, which does splinter along the edge easily, Watercolour board looks the same with a paper covering.
I always advise people to test before weathering but obviously failed to take my own advice...you live and learn
This didn't go well.....
it looked great before I weathered it.

From the website:
"Wood fibre board and watercolour boards for larger scales and MDF and paper for smaller scales."
N gauge are paper, so I assume 4mm is MDF & 0 gauge is WFB.
I do use them and I obviously can't disagree with what is on the website but it is easily damaged (especially on Brickwork as I said - weathering needs to be gently done) and the footbridge kit I have on my work bench is a very flexible material.

Not plastic, but laser cut MDF building sections:

I think they are a strong card rather than mdf? You need care at the edges particularly on brickwork.

These are HO US but worth a look given your prototype windows. How big is your building - I have few spares you could have a look at.

The engine, main generator and traction motors in the Class 11 are identical to the Class 08 so an 08 sound project looks like it would work
well - for a second time - I like the Digitrains Zimos...thank you Andy....I have a plan...

Should do, Chris.
The LMS jobs look to have been fitted with the English Electric 6KT engine, same as production 08s.

It depends where you are. Here in the South West I find Ray Heard is open and honest about how he buys s/h stock and prices sales. May not get as much as Ebay but a lot easier. He goes to a lot of ( and sponsors a number of ) shows but does not really do the internet...

Well, I should have my Waspy BR Green example tomorrow, according to the email from Royal Mail.
I shall report back as appropriate.
Rob.
Please do....I just need to decide if an 08 sound project will pass muster for an 11 - does anyone know if the prime movers are the same..?

The plot thickens...
As the Bachmann announcements had nothing 'must buy' for me, I've stuck an order in for 7128, and according to Kernow, it's already dispatched, so will report back when it arrives!Ditto 7120 - LMS pre-war black - also reported as dispatched....

HO scale Athearn CF7 Washington Central complete with TCS DCC Wowsound kit (unfitted)
The loco is very lightly weathered by me.
The TCS Wowsound kit is open but the internal bags are sealed - it is new and unfitted - it includes a speaker and instructions.
The decoder currently retails for £140 in the UK and the loco is extremely rare.
I therefore think the price of £175 is very fair but will consider offers.
I would prefer not to split the two items.
If the loco is not sold by 17 February I will have it at the Stokenchurch NMRA meet.

LNER/LMS 25t Machine Wagon LOWMAC in OO
in Rapido Trains

My take on the couplers from the pictures is that they are not the usual NEM pocket and won't take Kadee plug-ins (17-20 range). Is that the case? I do appreciate its a tight spot but would like confirmation. ( I think the 6w brake was similar IIRC)
Thanks
Chris
