Ive been wondering the same thing 🤔

I think we just need to remember they are a very small outfit dealing with what appears to be a very popular product. When it arrives it will be absolutely fine I'm sure. I'm just a previously satisfied customer FWIW.

No more so than any other kinematic coupler. It's a standard design.

Uncoupling Kadees on curves is problematic whether the pocket is kinematic or not.

Thanks - in which I should be fine as I have Bachman and SLW locos that work well on the layout already - I was concerned that the nail modification may be necessary!

I am looking at revising the the model to have bogie mounted pockets for the 60 but it will depend on whether they foul the snowplough etc.

I'm yet to fit Kadees to my 56s - is the coupler pocket design going to make a coupling/uncoupling problematic if any curve is involved?

Has anyone out there tried it?

I won't get round to it for a day or to - I certainly plan to use my RF liveried 56 for a bit of shunting on Penmaenbach which has long Peco BH points.

Blimey, I never knew you could do that; thanks. I picked up an unused NCE Powercab full set at Auction and in total with commission and postage it still only cost me £120. Not sure if it had the upgraded Chip, BUT it works perfectly. I shall use one of my two (yes I know) other Handsets as the second Slave as you suggest!

Also, as stated above, the O6 is fine for others to use just for stop and go sort of Op's. In fact at the only Exhibition to which I took a previous EM layout, my Son, on Control at the front of the layout, used it for shunting an 08...for two days of 6 hour shifts! That 08 had a superb West Coast Digital Sound Chip with amazing slow speed control.

It will need a different address but the manual tells you how to sort that. Not all 6 wire cables are falt btw - I have at least one coiled one so beware!

    News

Loco 2 is being collected by Reids tomorrow for transit to Warcop. All the paperwork is complete and all the spares are loaded into stillages ready

Sadly I won't be there. Still got my leg in plaster after breaking my ankle in two places, so tramping around sidings in Cumbria isn't practical.

But will get there as soon as possible

    Thanks for the update Kev

  6. This is from Roads and Rails...from their DCC sound installation

I thought I was finished but all the lights came on together, I like them to be directional so that I can easily see which way the model is gonna move, so I looked at the PCB and noticed that there was a green wire bridging two components, which looked like a bit of an after thought, so i took it off, and it made the lights directional, but backwards! So I have reversed the light outputs in the function mapping and it works now, any decoders you buy from us will already have this change made.

I use Powercab and an O6. I really do not like the O6. Limited functions and the Control settings are poor IMO. Compared to the finesse of the Cab, it is awful...sorry.

I await all the huge fans...but that won't stop me advising to try another way.

    Phil

I agree with you. A second powercab using a 4 wire connector in the righ hand socket is infinitely better.

I'm disappointed that the 'new' 8F still has an 8 pin DCC socket when 21 PIN is the defacto standard alongside the Next 18.

A basic upgrade to NEM coupler pockets would also seem overdue....
