  1. Hi Alex, Yeah you should be just like old times. I was born in 75 so I remember stuff from 1979 loads of 20's, 25's, peaks, 08's and some 31's. I used to have a pic of me in the cab of a 31 down at Murphy's oil terminal when they came to pick the tankers up. It is just a shame that the locos were slowly withdrawn from service. The only way nowadays to experience it now would be to go to a preserved railway.
  2. Not one piece of Canadian muck in them pictures! Those were the days that there was different style of locos.
  3. What you really could do with is 58001 with test car 6, or just get test car 6 and run it with one of the ones you have it with.
  4. I think you are right about the whatever takes their fancy to run on the persons layout Coachman, I try and stick to two eras BR blue and a preserved era (ok I have the apple green Tornado) but that is a "what if this was built and preserved" and also Great Central A1 with part of my layout being Rothley station on the GCR I found that it would be fitting. Apart from a few things like that I try to stick to the era of which I am building. There will NEVER a piece of Canadian muck on my layout (class 59, 66) or any of the other invaders that were not built in Europe.
  5. Would you consider doing the Glasgow SECC Model Rail exhibition one year with this great layout!
  6. Soon be at the stage where you be plastering the bits between the tracks. Will look a whole lot better when that is done.
  7. Jenny, You may find that they won't debit your card payment until it is ready to be shipped to you. You should receive notification of this when they send it off. Ian

    Heljan Class 15

I am thinking of getting one, it would be renumbered to the one that was at Toton. I think that was ADB968002.
  9. Can some tell me why they have rated my post on here undecipherable or unsure of the meaning of it? I thought it was obvious what it means!!
  10. Hey buddy, Loving the classic Toton shot. Don't take this the wrong way but it don't look right without the separate door beams. I know you said you didn't want it to look like it too much. I just thought I would put my opinion. But anyway apart from that it looks great either way!!
  11. There as been a lot of updates on this page. If your on Facebook pop along and see like the page and say hello! Great Central Railway and Dumbarton Station Model Railway.
  12. At the moment I have lost all interest in the model railway at the moment. On the work table is an A4 awaiting the rest of the brassmasters kit going on it. It has been sat there for the last 7 or 8 weeks and no work has been done on it! So I guess I can safely say nothing will be done on my railway anytime in the near future! Thinking of having another clear out!
  13. The shed never really changed from 1984- 1992. It changed more roughly around 95 when they added the extra bit on it known as the cathederal, where they have extra room to remove the power unit from the loco.
  14. They may do better if Bachmann did the run of Ltd Edn peaks again but in the guise of 45106 in green.
  15. They may do better if the nose seams were corrected. I don't think it has anything to do with the fact the real loco caught fire. With the new style of chassis motors and also will be DCC ready it could be a good seller. It was due to the fact that chassis was the old mainline style, which was not that good. But with the improved version it would be better!
  16. You may be interested in this. I did a quick search and i found this. http://www.greenwayproducts.com/storeroom/brass/brass_corner/horns_bells.html Ok it maybe in America so you may pay a bit extra for the postage.
  17. These are 2 of the models i have changed from the original. The Green A4 WAS the DCC railroad version of Mallard ( NOW Dwight D Eisenhower ) and the one next to it WAS the double chimney version of Falcon ( NOW Bittern ). I have a single chimney version of Falcon which will be turned into Dominion of Canada.
  18. I have now got ALL but one of the GCR collection now!!

  19. I have now got ALL but one of the GCR collection now!!

  20. I got mine from Petersspares off ebay. It consisted of the pipe detail, drain cocks, spare wheel and the tender pipe. I have found a direct link for you if it works. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/330690927937 Your models look really good i like the shinyness of them as they look more realistic than the normal finish.
  21. You can use the detailing pipe parts from the flying scotman detailing pack. It will give it that more authentic look for the mainline. Just a thought!
  22. Ah that will be the old style nose seam one then. Think Bachmann should release BOTH again but with revised nose ends. I think they could be good sellers.
  23. EXCELLENT AWARD GOES TO MR RON HEGGS!!! Brilliant work! Can't wait for the track work to begin!!
  24. Looking good. now i know who keeps out bidding me on the peaks!!! lol
