  1. What an interesting example of enterprise...."do not complain if postage doesnt match etc" and remote areas!, the Isle of Wight can be seen with the naked eye from the mainland!
  2. It seems that "re-packing" faulty goods and selling them as new is not unusuall in Currys, I bought a tv dongle from currys after being given advice that turned out to be totally wrong, when I got home I found that the item didnt work, the envelope with the software disk had been clumsily re sealed, and a sealed component bag was already open. I contacted trading standards with a copy of e mail to curry's head office, trading standards were not helpful, Currys said I could return the goods to the store for a full refund, wow! I havnt bought anything from currys since.
  3. Decided to ghange from "00" to "N" to get more track down without buying a new shed.

Just starting with Kato track and finding model rail dealers in the north of Wiltshire, great fun

  4. Hi Kevin, I received my parcel this morning, Royal Mail special delivery, posted yesterday, the 8th, not Wednesday 6th as the dealer claimed, I was charged £4.00 post and packing, quite fair, the special delivery shows £29.94.. also I was invoiced for a higher price than shown on the price label on the box, I do really want to support the small shopman but some make it very difficult. I sent an e-mailto the dealer, acknowledging receipt and also my concerns. John
  5. On Monday I placed an order with a "small" retailer, support the small shop and get good service etc, had an e-mail on Tuesday, "your loco is being tested, I willl e mail you as soon as it has been dispatched". Friday pm, no e-mail, I phoned the dealer, he said he had tested the loco and posted it on wednesday, if it hasnt arrived on Monday I will go to the post office and track it" I am certain that if I had used one of the largest "box sellers" the order would have been picked, dispatched and arrived next day, and I would have had e-mails letting me know the progress. It would have been quicker and cheaper to drive the 35 miles to the small shop......but that isnt very green is it?
  6. Morning all,

I am 65, enjoying being retired, lived in Wiltshire for many many years, moving to the north of the county sometime in the summer
