  1. Hi everyone,

I understand the pre-orders for the N gauge King are now live.

If you pre-ordered through the last site, i have not kept the details except your e-mails and i will be mailing you all to let you know the sites live and you can now order your model and pay your deposit, which will pay for tooling, that will start as soon as the plateau for tooling costs is covered which could, if the take up is good, be within days rather than weeks.

I have kept e-mail addresses so that i can mail a reminder, so if you get a reminder e-mail, sorry, i'm just using a belt and braces model and will delete the e-mails after sending out the reminders.

I'm away for 2 days tomorrow in hospital for nothing serious so replying to mails will be difficult,

    Cheers

    Dave

  3. I am somewhat surprised as the site itself is well referenced. I took someone else's PC googled DJ models, and it was the first thing that popped up meaning the site is well referenced. Had it been then YouTube, this forum and various models going out with DJs would have been there before getting to Dave Jones site.

It is possible I suppose that Dave's own internet provider is rubbish meaning he does not see his site, his mails etc, until several days after the changes were made, sent etc.

Propagation is taking a while, that's for sure.

Just checked on this laptop using Google, the home page IP, Bing and Yahoo, plus Safari on my i pad and its still not coming through despite copious amounts of pressing F5 with control time and again. Blinking Sky internet!

Thank goodness some of you can see it and report the problems here for me, so i can get them looked at.

Thanks again for that chaps, by the way.

    Dave

  4. Partial apology from me. I gave the guy your email address. I also emailed you moments later to give you a heads up. I had taken the email address straight from my "contacts". Dave Jones: nthusiast@hotmail.com

Checking today and that is the only email I had for you. You mighty find both the emails there, if you still use that hotmail account

Not a problem, and you can also use info@djmodels.co.uk

I've checked my mail and nothing from him or you today!

  5. hi everyone,

some snags have been looked at and completed / corrected but some still exist which.

some snagging still exists including login , account creation, the class 92's in version liveries etc

seems there are more problems than i knew about, but please be patient and i hope to have them cleared up very soon

    Thanks

    Dave

  6. Hi everyone,

Great feedback for you both here and on PM, and thanks for it.

Although i cannot still get onto view the site as admin or as a potential customer, i know lots of you can.

i have managed to have a placeholder put on the home page stating about the problems encountered at the minute and asking for patience while i get them put right.

    Thanks

  7. I have passed the details before. As for his name, he didn't offer and by his demeanour I wasn't going to ask for it, I was trying to stay out of it. He did say his son-in-law ordered it for him. Good luck on that one. Hopefully we shall hear no more. I will be in touch if we do.

From my previous post, can you make enquiries then with DT of S and Crewe Heritage Centre and see if they sent the flyers to our shop?

As you may have guessed not too impressed with this. Had you have asked we would have willingly displayed the flyers anyway. We did display them, as we do with anything local from Model Railway exhibitions to local theatres. By local, I mean anybody who takes the time to send such information to us.

    Hi,

I totally understand your thoughts on this matter and please rest assured i have asked both other parties and neither has any knowledge of this.

I'll keep asking around but so far its looking like no one from the 3 parties mentioned has done this.

If you do get to find out, please mail me, and likewise i'll do the same if i find out.

    Sorry you've been troubled.

  8. That literally makes no sense. You can't keep being redirected to a non-live site if you've cleared all of your cookies and browsing data. Can you browse privately/incognito?

No, Dave suggested to him that he remove his branding. Given that only a handful of people actually know the story he's presumably deemed that unnecessary though! There are, of course, at least 3 sides to every story, we've heard Dave's! That just leaves Steve's and the truth! I still wouldn't go near him.

    Yup,

Tried on Bing, Yahoo, google and Chrome but no joy.

the I-pad on Safari wont read it either.

Funnily enough on yahoo i get "DJmodels Official site" with the APT press release 2 lines, but when i click on it, it goes into the old site!

Told you all i was a luddite didnt i? lol

    Try putting:

    206.189.121.120

Into your web browser... that’s your sites IP.

New sites working fine for me, no J94’s but it says the HC is in development..

thanks mate, went straight to the old site!

  9. As we will be opening for business very shortly and anticipating another visit, can you please answer this Dave? This project has nothing to do with us and should not be effecting our business. In the past, I have tried to be supportive to your business and was willing to offer a little more, can you help us out here?

Please get him to ring me on 07923 867847 or e-mail me at info@djmodels.co.uk and i'll sort it for him,

Can you please PM me his name for reference and i;ll look it up on the database too.

    cheers

    Dave

  10. Oh great, now i cannot get access to the website due to my username and password being wrong!

Cant change anything even though i want to at the moment.

i cannot even see the new website in google. although the control -F5 buttons are taking a right old bashing at the moment!

  11. Try going to

www.djmodels.co.uk - and stay on the home page

and then press Control and F5 together. (assuming PC browser)

    Thanks mate,

Yes, been doing that and still am but nothing.

Edit: Just deleted the bookmark and the windows 10 google DJM icon too, and refreshed but still getting the old site.

In fact clicking on the King banner at the bottom of this page also takes me to the old site

  12. New site looks good Dave!

    Thanks,

Unfortunately it seems to be taking a while to propagate as although i am clearing my comps cache, i cannot see it yet.

Once everyone can see it, please feel free to comment on it, and suggest things. I may not be able to implement them but if it helps make a better web site for everyone, i will certainly listen.

    Cheers

    Dave

  13. Hi Dave,

Is the new website holding back the Paypal refunds?

For getting on for around a month I have been getting grief from one of your customers. His reasoning was that as he had picked up a flyer for the APT from our shop, as far as he is concerned, we must be involved in the project. I thought I had convinced him we were not and advised him to contact DT of S. He tells me that they advised him to contact you. He says he has heard nothing back. He has taken to calling in for updates from us, not good for our business when you have a disgruntled person in the shop and you have no answers for him.

No one in our shop can recall how the flyers ended up with us. Can you shed any light? I removed them from our info desk. I am sure you can appreciate why.

I did make a suggstion for a local to you ish web company but not sure if you saw it.

    Hi mate,

    firstly let me clarify something.

The only flyers for the APT were used or are being used in 3 places only.

    1) myself at shows

    2) DToS

    3) Crewe Heritage Centre.

I have never put any flyers in any stockists at all except those 2 above, i have also not asked any third partys to do so. I would also not ask a stockist who isnt connected with said project to do so.

How you got some is beyond me, and not of my doing or knowledge.

And if you have no knowledge of how they got into your shop, i surely cannot be blamed for that? can i?

Any customer that writes to me i try and answer within 24 hours, but there is always a chance he might have fallen through the net.

However, checking my inbox there are no 'unread' mails from anyone, so please ask this customer to re-contact me and i'll gladly explain everything to him as his mail might have fallen into the spam box although i do try to check that frequently before deleting.

  14. Hi,

the N gauge APT page will need putting on thecweb site and wont be available immediately.

i'll try and get someone to do it for me today if possible. (again, the black arts i know nothing about).

so, providing i get a web site today, then within the next 24 hours or so, i hope.

    cheers

    Dave

  15. Hopefully the web site will be functional today so that APT-P and other payments can be made.

Failing that, will you accept a cheque Dave? Serious question.

    Hi mate,

I've been promised the site will be up and running fot 8am this morning, but as yet i see nothing to encourage me to believe that.

Ive been able to take cheques all along, but felt for everyones sanity, that the e-commerce secure payment route would be easier for us all.

i'm not sure how long these things take to go live, but its 70 minutes before 8am and hope is fast dimming here.

    cheers

    Dave

update: its 08.08 Monday morning and no joy as yet. No contact either which is also concerning.

    Updates when i have them.

    Dave

  16. PS: wishing you the best x

PS2: I would t discribe my comment as a forceful attack, please tell me where I've lied or misrepresented the truth, or have I been reading the wrong thread and in fact all is well at rosy and well at DJ towers ?

Well the thread is about 'web site problems' so possibly yes. :-)

oh and the web company has some serious bonafide's, having worked for some really large organisations, so how can you tell?

  17. Hi mate,

i wont be, but it will probably be my last time that i am not, as i will actually have product and a fair bit of it, to show next year, and be able to put on a 'bit of a show'.

I've always said i wouldnt attend if all i had was P.O.S. and a wagon or 2 to show.

Next year should see quite a few changes in that area.

    Cheers

  18. I am the proud owner of 5 DJM made locomotives plus a couple of carriages. I wouldn't be in 00 if these models didn't exist, my N collection has a strong Dapol presence, again the hand of Dave is in there.

As a maker of models there is no doubt Dave has the skill, not everyone likes coreless motors but they seem to be a thing these days and my locos operate flawlessly on my layout.

Did Dave announce some models subsequently announced by others too, yes, it's a fact, was Dave there first, who knows, I suspect there is a mix of reasons and only those in the business with connections will know the truth. It goes without saying though that Hornby even whilst in financial doldrums has more resources available to it than Dave and if they felt a strategic model was about to be lost to them it would be possible to react quickly.

The model railway environment has changed very quickly since Dave went solo, the traditional model has gone out of the window with Dave adopting the Crowdfunding model now as a way forwards. Nothing wrong in that, it works quite successfully especially with RevolutioN.

Where I think Dave went wrong is that he did not anticipate the issues with using PayPal, would I be correct to assume that apart from some crowdfunded wagons all large items would have used Kernow's and Hattons' card processing facilities. Not having the e-commerce site up and running first with a website that focussed purely on the current models in progress I think is where all the issues are stemming from. Where we are now is that there are three models needing payments and no means to collect payment, that could be a killer if not turned around quickly and I do hope for Dave's sake that his webmaster is working on that site today

Edit I was writing this whilst Andy was cleaning up the bickering, feel free to remove this as well.

I am mailing and have mailed the web master, and texted him today after the last 2 days promises of uploading have failed to materialise.

I've deleted the update for the latest update.....

Web master has dropped by and told me that it will be done tonight for access tomorrow morning.

He also suggests that 'we leave it there as he thinks theres a breakdown in the relationship we have, plus he works for another company now' No deficating sherlock. lol

Anyway, ive suggested he remove all his business branding from the web site before going live.

fingers crossed for tonight / tomorrow.

    Cheers

    Dave
