  1. Agreed some will not get refunds, but i would hope they understand the crowdfunding principal, and realise that it was impossible, under PayPals instructions to refund percentages of the initial payment. And besides i'd be asking for the payment back very soon anyway, so their order is still valid. Giving a percentage back to everyone, if it was possible, would create a nightmare if paperwork and hassles, as monies had started to be paid out for services received with regards to scanning, the party etc, crewe hire etc. As it stands i'm about to reveive a reasonable 5 figured invoice for the completion of the scanning, plus the start of cad cam development on China. However, if it agrieves anyone that i randomly didnt choose them for a refund due to the above, i'll find their monies from somewhere and refund them. However, i am still refunding customers at this time, although its a slow process rather than just 'bulk refunding'. The interesting thing will be whether we get everyone to re-enlist in the project in a few days once the e-commerce web site is up and running. Cheers Dave
  2. Hi, All Kings being made are for crowdfunders. they will get sll versions advertised at a lower price and will each have an exclusive model that will not be repeated in both livery and name combo. Any further runs of the model (non crowdfunded versions) will be at RRP. However, any further runs will also be of different name/livery combinations, and not ordered along with this batch, so the crowdfunded models will be exclusive for quite a long time if you just wanted an N gauge model King loco. Hope this helps cheers Dave
  3. Hi everyone, I am pleased to say that i have signed off on the early N gauge GWR King locomotive (King1) cad/cam today. I expect King2 and King3 cad/cam's tomorrow for detail checking. Here are the pictures for 'King1' They will be available to order from the new DJM web site e-commerce, site, and i will mail everyone to give them the link for their deposit order payment. Once enough have paid the deposit, i hope to go to tooling immediately with a first EP sample around the time of the N gauge Show at Leamington Spa. Cheers Dave
  4. Hi everyone, PayPal refunds started today, and will go on through the afternoon into tonight, and tomorrow. There is a limited explanation in the refund, but it doesn't cover everything due to space and character limitations by PayPal. I will be writing to everyone with an in depth explanation as to whats gone on, and where the project is at at the moment, plus payment details with a link to the 'paid' page of the new web site to allow re-orders/ changes to orders / additional models. Cheers Dave
  5. It's ok, i have had a strong murmur / rumour that there's another O gauge king in development.
  6. Hi everyone, just to let you know i will start refunding the APT 'pre orders' from tomorrow. This may take a few days, so please be patient. i will endevour to include a link to the new web site 'e-commerce' page which will allow those who have ordered to re-order / change or increase their orders as they see fit. This e-commerce page will also need a valid order number from your original when you placed with DToS This e-commerce page link will not be made public, only to pre-order customers, so please dont give it out to third parties as their name and product number will not co-incide with our data base and as such will be voided. For those that ordered at the higher, non crowdfunded price, you can re-order your choice from the standard APT page, following the link to a pre-order, but no payment page. Once the model you have ordered comes into stock, you will be automatically invoiced for the choice / choices of model at the published higher price, and you can then pay this invoice through the e-commerce site by following the link in the invoice that is sent when the models come available. Some will not get a refund, due to monies now being spent on the project, scanning, party, hire of Crewe etc, but you will get a revised invoice saying you have paid your initial payment and your order is sound. If i cannot for some reason, get the web site up until Thursday/Friday, but start refunding tomorrow, please be patient with trying to re-order, and i will post here to update you. Thank you all for your patience. cheers Dave
  7. Your original order number was generated and sent to you with your acknowledgement of your order when you placed it. Fingers crossed you've kept that paper work as although i can reference it, it will save me a lot of time if everyone who ordered can submit it with their re-order. cheers Dave
  8. Nor complicated at all...... just a few things. Receive the PayPal refund, and you should get the link to re-order through a page on my new web site. fill in what you want, add your order number from DToS for ease of cross referencing your original order and pay. you will get an automated receipt Then sit back and wait for updates, and cad/cams to comment on. Hopefully there wont be any. Then we move to second payments for tooling, and so forth until the model is in production. Cheers Dave
  9. No! unfortunately, which means i have to make a MOQ (minimum order quantity) to get them done, and sell the rest via my e-commerce site and at shows, as i have no choice. The project will have to pay me back my outlay and perhaps then even make me a profit.
  10. Hi everyone, The smokebox is being altered as you read this, and i'm getting the handrail knobs reduced to something more akin to the Farish Castle in size. As for power transfer, it will not be wired, but Metal type wipers from loco to tender. This is used by others in UK design and seem to be no trouble. Here's today's big smokebox door bulge cad/cams.
  11. Hi Colin, lots of changes here recently..... web site, e-commerce, advertising and so forth. New accountant got taken on today, and will have the accounts sorted for either tomorrow, or Sunday i believe. like i said, lots of changes.... some you'll all readily see, some you wont, but will make the front of house handling and the behind the scenes stuff much easier for me. I did contemplate a step away from RMWeb as well, but i'm not sure it would be beneficial, besides i love you guys! (yes, really!) Heck i realised a couple of days ago, i havn't been on a pure train watching day out for over a year. lots of new liveries, loco's (yet to see an 88), and EMU's. That will have to change also. It's a strange place i find myself in right now, but one that has evolved completely this last couple of months. Hopefully that will shine through in the coming weeks, months and years. One thing i guarantee though, it wont diminish my love for this wonderful hobby of ours. cheers Dave
  12. For everyone's information i have just resent / forwarded the confirmation of order, and explanation letter i sent to this gentleman within 24 hours of receiving his order from DToS, and i'm sure DToS will be along to put their case soon.
  13. Having just this minute put the phone down on a conversation to Michale Worrall at DToS, he confirms he knew all about this, and was also present in June when this was all being explained to crowdfunders at the scanning party.
  14. I'm hoping that the web site revamp and the e-commerce section will come on line this weekend with the Paypal refunds either over the weekend or very early next week. This has been all been explained to those that have ordered, ordered and not been invoiced, and to those that have not ordered. Nothing has been held back from the crowdfunders, even at the scanning party where it was face to face. Sometimes things take time, and are out of what i would see as 'sensible control' my end. The light is at the end of the tunnel however.
  15. Hi mate, Will do on the 92, and initial deposits wont need to be refunded and resubmitted, but subsequent orders and second payments will go through the e-commerce side of the web site when up and running. Talking of which, i hope to have it up and live this weekend, and Paypal refunds for the APT by Monday if all goes well. Cheers Dave
  16. Hi everyone, Sorry it's a day late, but here is the latest incarnation of the early King model cad/cam. Changes on this one include front bogie hidden weight for tracking, Smokebox door curve, Washout plugs, cab roof rear 'lip' and others. Cheers Dave
  17. Hi everyone, got the cad/cam revision but have asked for the smokebox door to be more curved. should have that tomorrow (wednesday) to publish here. cheers Dave
  18. just been told i should have something tangible for the end of this week.if thats the case, and i get the cloud to China soon, i'm hoping to get some Step files so i can get some models in OO and N gauge (by reducing the OO cad/cam to N gauge) done in 3D. Will let know know when i do. cheers Dave
  19. Hi Alex, Thanks for that and your mail didn't fall on deaf ears as we were already on it, along with the cab roof profile mentioned previously. If all goes to plan i should be showing the revised cad/cam tomorrow morning. Cheers Dave
  20. Hi, i think it was post 871 on here that i mentioned that as soon as the N gauge king clears first stage tooling the OO 92 would follow it into tooling itself. then once that clears, i hope the APT will follow it then i have a good few slots booked for further models right after that!
  21. ok, i think it would help if i posted a back of the roof shot of the cad/cam, so we can kill or cure this issue. i'll do it later when i'm home. feedback, even asking questions about something i might have missed and think its ok, is always welcome. After all, we are all on a learning curve i think, and it will benefit the project. cheers Dave
  22. Hi everyone, Trolls not withstanding, here, as promised are the latest cad/cam's for the early King. I have included some angles which were areas of concern. Cheers Dave
  23. Hi, The project will alter from PayPay to Lloyds Click Safe and take credit card / debit card payments, but please note the information freely availale on my web site regarding the project, payments and risk versus return. Cheers Dave
  24. why would you say that? I stated that a second bogie version would cost the project more, and as such wasnt budgeted as where do you stop? As it is there will be a bogie with coupling box and a bogie without as standard. If you would like to send me your proof of order, i will gladly cancel it for you as obviously the model is inferior to your needs, for which i can only apologise. If you can also let everyone here know just how much it would cost to do ALL versions totally accurately, and how you intend to produce the N gauge model King within a set budget, including, for example, a minimum of 5 chimneys, 3 cabs (not forgetting the cab roof vents) bogies (both with and without strengthening fillets, and with and without coupling box), both smokebox doors, not forgetting both styles of buffer shank.....( i could go on), and do it all for an initial price, including design work, cad/cam, tooling, ep samples, tooling again, ep samples. testing, decorated samples, samples to the press, shipping across the world, distribution to the end customer, spares etc all for £135.00 for your obviously superior model, then please let me know how here in front of everyone and i will stand aside and let you do it.
  25. Hi everyone, I'm hoping that today or tomorrow i can show the completed cad/cam of the early King locomotive to you. (Fingers crossed here) Work will then move on apace for the other versions, and i think we are only about 10 or so days away from the distinct possibility of starting tooling on this model. With this in mind, please note that once i am are sure this is happening, i will need everyone here who has placed an order to pay the deposit to allow tooling to start. You will be able to do this via a link that i will send to you all which will take you to the non RRP 50% deposit payment page. It is here that you can order, alter and or add to your requirements, and pay your deposit securely through Lloyds quick safe payment system. when the invitation to pay is sent out, no orders will be taken from fresh customers coming late, although you as existing customers will be allowed to add extra models for yourself etc, right up to second ep / production phase. cheers Dave
