  1. A picture I took of my Dad's railway shortly before it went to a new home. I'm not normally good at taking pictures, but I was very pleased with this one.
  2. My name is Peter and I’m on the Surrey/Sussex border. After having briefly been an LNER enthusiast in my teens, I became a post war Southern Railway enthusiast. About 40 years later I found that I had morphed into a pre-war Southern Railway enthusiast. Hopefully wishes will turn to reality this year when I make space for a layout. I have been busy collecting stock and am delighted with the pre-group stuff available. I will be aiming for a hybrid layout, part analogue part digital. Part may have a third rail. My other interests are slot car racing (I run the local club) and classic cars. I served my apprenticeship with BR.
  3. A pair of ball bearings with a strap each side would do it. Set the bearings the appropriate distance apart..........
  4. Garages become much more friendly if they are carpeted. Second-hand stuff of course......
  5. Now gone to a new home. All a few years old, a couple of the hardeners have gone off. Tiranti and Formite products. I'll make up a list or maybe find the old one.... Located in West Sussex, near Loxwood. Peter.
  6. I used to be into BSAs. I wonder what this one would be worth now. Ex-Vesco. Peter.
  7. I shall watch this with interest. What a wonderful idea to model this system. My modest knowledge is limited to the Croydon line and perhaps more, the proposed Portsmouth Atmospheric line. Thank-you for your content so far. Peter
  8. I used to use them regularly for slot car racing stuff. I've never had a problem with them, and their communication has always been excellent. Peter
  9. All the 1980s stuff has now been recycled, the rest remain for a while. Peter.
  10. Part of a big clearout of my Dad's stuff. About 250 magazines in all, mostly 1960s and 1980s. To be collected from Ifold in West Sussex (near Billingshurst). Model Railway Constructor. 1961 8 issues 1962 12 issues 1963 11 issues 1964 11 issues 1965 9 issues 1966 12 issues 1967 11 issues 1968 12 issues 1969 12 issues 1970 9 issues 1970-1976 6 issues only 1977 12 issues 1978 12 issues 1979 11 issues 1980- 1986 all with 12 issues 1987 6 issues including the last one, June 1987 Railway Modeller. 1961 9 issues 1962 12 issues 1963 7 issues.
